Introduction
A transmitter, a receiver, and a probe for inserting into food make up a conventional Bluetooth food thermometer. Bluetooth is a wireless technology that enables data sharing between gadgets like cellphones, smartwatches, and food thermometers. Bluetooth connects to a digital device by pairing.

OPERATION INSTRUCTION
Turn on the device
Press and hold the power button for 3s until the LCD display lights up with two“beep”, and insert the probes into the probe socket.
Pair with smartphone
- Open your phone’s GPS and Bluetooth first before using the APP.
- Make sure you have done the first step, and then open the Grill 5.0 APP, turn on the “Hcitool scan” wait to find the device, and then pair it with your phone.
Notice
- You must make sure GPS and Bluetooth is opening. Because it will affect the connection.
- Our App can not connect 2 or more phone at the same time.
- If your phone ask you PIN number, please see more details on Page 5.
- You can scan the QR code to watch the video on how to connect and set up the App.
Quick Start
- Insert the probes into the food, select the corresponding food, and target temperature on the APP according to your needs.
- When the target temperature is reached, both the device and the smartphone will alarm. Short press the button or click“OK” on the smartphone, the alarm will stop.
- When setting the temperature range, if the current temperature is lower or higher than the temperature range, the device and smartphone will alarm. Even you stop the alarm, the display still continues to flash.
Power OFF
Press and hold for 3s. The device will power off with two“beep”.

Note
- Click “OK/All Alarm” on a smartphone is close the current alarm or close all the current alarms.
- The alarm interval is 5 minutes and can be customized on the APP.
- The food target temperature and temperature range can be customized.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Why does our App need to ask for your location (GPS)? It is safe?
Because our app uses Bluetooth function, and this is abided by the Framework Agreement of Android and iOS. Any Bluetooth app must request location permission. Our application won’t ask and use your WLAN/Celluar, so turn on the location just because of the Android and iOS rules. We are unable to see and receive your location.
What is the PIN code? Why can’t connect to the APP
You can’t connect devices on your phone’s system via PIN. App download and use require acceptance of location terms. The connection method is to open the device first, then open the “Grill 5.0” App on the phone, search through the search page, click “hcitool scan”, and search for “Grill BT5.0” in a few seconds, click to enter use.
Why not wireless?
Wireless refers to the Bluetooth connection between the device and the phone, not the connection between the probe and the device. This has the advantage of not having to stare at the temperature display of the device all the time.
Why always disconnect the Bluetooth connection?
The product uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology with Bluetooth 5.0 module (TI‘s CC26 40). In an open and unobstructed environment, it can reach a distance of 70 meters; but it does not penetrate the wall well. The characteristic of this Bluetooth technology is that as long as the device is connected, no matter the signal strength, it can be used normally.

Temperature exceeds range: 33℉~572℉（1℃~300℃）or the probe is damaged
Why does the display keep flashing after setting the temperature range?
Only when the current temperature is within the temperature range, the display can return to normal. If it is lower or higher than the temperature range, the device and mobile phone will alarm with the flashing display.
Why no data is displayed after powering on?
A: If the probe is not plugged into the socket after powering on, the device will not display temperature and auto power off after 3 minutes.
WARNING
- Do not touch the stainless portion of the probe during or right after measuring temperatures since it will be hot.
- Keep away from water since the thermometer and cables are not waterproof.
- Do not place the probes or probe cable directly in a burning flame.
- Do not damage the sensor tip, it will affect the use.
Notes on the probe
- Do not put the probes and cable directly in the fire flame.
- The temperature probes of this meat thermometer can’t be submersible for cleaning.
- Clean and dry the probe thoroughly after each use with a damp cloth.
- Always insert the probe upright into the thickest part of the meat while avoiding fatty or bony areas. Avoid direct contact between the open flame and the probe and cable to cause excessive temperature and damage to the probe.
NOTE
If you want to confirm the accuracy of the probe or equipment, it is recommended that you test in ice water or boiling water. If you think the temperature of the probe is not accurate, please contact us at edison@szbfour.com, we will provide a free warranty or replacement service.

The “whole contraption” wouldn’t have to go into the oven. The probes will transmit the temperature to the display device if you place them in the oven. Only the probes are designed to withstand severe heat, not the main control unit.
The battery cover is challenging to open. It slides in one direction before needing to be pryed open. Once you have pushed the cover into the opening position, a sharp knife under the edge would be helpful.
The Bluetooth thermometer records the temperature over time. But regrettably, there is currently no record and save feature.
Yes. They are metal probes, and the wire is protected from heat by a metal sheath. The seal of your oven door may be slightly compromised because the probes must be joined to the thermometer device in order to obtain readings, but if this doesn’t prohibit you from using it, they should be able to endure the heat of your oven.
In order to measure the ambient temperature of the grill or smoker, our barbecue thermometer is also fitted with a clamp for mounting the probe.
