Select Bluetooth on your device.
Check for the Bluetooth Device name as CAR-xxxx.
Turn on WIFI and keep it on. Then, go back to Bluetooth to connect to CarPlay.
Select the Bluetooth Device name as CAR-XXX and pair it to use CarPlay when the request window pops up.

Apple Wireless Screen Mirroring:

Select AirPlay on your device.
Turn on your phone and select the Wireless LAN option.
Find and click on the CAR-WIFI-XXX network and enter the password 66668888.
Return to the main interface of the phone, open the shortcut menu page, select Screen Mirroring, and turn it on.

Wireless Android Auto Connection Method:

Select Bluetooth on your device.
Look for the Bluetooth name starting with CAR-xxx in the interface.
Pair with the Bluetooth name beginning with CAR-xxx and follow the Android Auto connect process on screen.
Click on CAR-xxx and complete the pairing. Turn on the Android Auto app on your mobile phone for automatic connection.

Android Wireless Screen Mirroring:

Scan and download the Auto Link software on your Android phone.
Turn on the Auto Link by using the Browser in the Settings page.
Open the Auto Link software, search for CAR-WIFIXXXX, and connect.
Click START NOW on the phone prompt box to complete the connection.

Audio Settings – Call Echo Cancellation:
To cancel echo during calls, navigate to Settings-Audio-AEC Delay, then click Start Auto AEC. Follow these steps: 1. Keep quiet in the car; 2. Adjust volume to a moderate position; 3. Click Start Auto AEC and wait 20 seconds for estimation completion.

Audio Settings

Call Echo Cancellation:Steps:
Settings-Audio-AEC Delay, then click the button “Start Auto AEC”.
If there is an echo when on a phone call. Please click this button for echo correction. When correcting the echo, we must :

Keep quiet in the car.
Turn the volume to a moderate position, and then click“Start Auto AEC”.
Wait 20 seconds for the estimation to be complete.

Cables and accessories

Cable connection chart

After the cables are all connected, you will be able to switch between the original BMW and the CarPlay interfaces by long-pressing the “MENU” button on the iDrive knob.

Please follow the connection chart accurately (detailed instructions below).

Power cable connection

Unplug the OEM original power cable from the head unit and reconnect it to the new cable harness. Then plug the new cable into the head unit.
If your car has a fiber optic cable, you will need to move the original fiber optic cable to the new harness.

LVDS cable connection

The ORIGINAL LVDS cable goes from the HEAD UNIT to the “LVDS IN” of the CarPlay box.
The NEW LVDS cable goes to THE SCREEN from the “LVDS OUT” of the CarPlay box.

Note: Connecting the LVDS cables incorrectly will result in a black screen!

WiFi antenna and USB-AV cable connection

The CarPlay interface decoder box should be installed in an appropriate space near or on the OEM head unit.

CarPlay Decoder Sound Setup

Bluetooth settings
If your phone already has a Bluetooth connection to your car, disconnect it.

AUX Connections
There is no need to connect the EXT-AUX cable to your car’s AUX port, unless your car is a BMW 3 / 4 series or a 1 / 2 series.

AUX Settings
Before using the CarPlay system, you need to set the sound input on your OEM interface to “AUX”; otherwise, the CarPlay /Android Auto system will have sound!

Long-press the “MENU” button from the iDrive knob to enter the CarPlay Decoder main interface.

Which steering wheel control buttons work?
The CarPlay interface decoder box supports the voice control button, the telephone button, the next song, prev song buttons, and the volume “+” and “-“ buttons. The other buttons are not supported.
