3. Setup Instructions
The F30070M telescope is designed for quick and easy assembly without the need for additional tools.
- Set up the Tripod: Extend the legs of the aluminum tripod to a stable position. Adjust the height as desired.
- Attach the Telescope Tube: Locate the mounting bracket on the telescope tube. Align it with the attachment point on the tripod head and secure it using the provided screw or knob. Ensure it is firmly attached.
- Install the Finderscope: Slide the 5X24 finderscope into its mounting bracket on the main telescope tube. Tighten the small screws on the bracket to hold it in place.
- Insert the Diagonal Mirror: Insert the 90° diagonal mirror into the focuser tube at the end of the telescope. Secure it with the small thumbscrew.
- Insert an Eyepiece: Choose an eyepiece (e.g., H20mm for lower magnification) and insert it into the diagonal mirror. Secure it with the small thumbscrew.
- Attach Aiming Control Handle: Attach the aiming control and lock handle to the designated slot on the telescope mount for easier movement and tracking.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Aligning the Finderscope
The finderscope helps locate objects quickly. It must be aligned with the main telescope:
- Point the main telescope at a distant, easily identifiable object (e.g., a tree top or street light) during daylight hours.
- Center the object in the main telescope's eyepiece.
- Look through the finderscope and adjust its alignment screws until the same object is centered in the finderscope's crosshairs.
4.2 Focusing
Once an object is centered in the eyepiece:
- Turn the focusing knob slowly until the image appears sharp and clear.
- For best results, make small adjustments.
4.3 Changing Magnification
Magnification is determined by the eyepiece and any additional lenses used.
- Eyepieces: The H20mm eyepiece provides 15X magnification (300mm / 20mm = 15X). The H6mm eyepiece provides 50X magnification (300mm / 6mm = 50X). Start with the lower magnification (H20mm) to locate objects, then switch to higher magnification (H6mm) for more detail.
- Barlow Lens: Insert the 3X Barlow lens between the diagonal mirror and the eyepiece to triple the magnification. For example, with the H20mm eyepiece, magnification becomes 15X * 3 = 45X. With the H6mm eyepiece, it becomes 50X * 3 = 150X.
- 1.5X Erecting Eyepiece: For terrestrial viewing, insert the 1.5X erecting eyepiece to correct the inverted image. This also increases magnification by 1.5 times. For example, with the H20mm eyepiece, magnification becomes 15X * 1.5 = 22.5X.

4.4 Using the Phone Adapter
The included phone adapter allows you to capture images or videos through the telescope:
- Attach your smartphone to the adapter.
- Secure the adapter with the phone to an eyepiece.
- Adjust the phone's camera to align with the eyepiece lens for optimal viewing and photography.
4.5 Using the Moon Filter
The moon filter reduces the brightness of the moon, making it more comfortable to observe and revealing finer details. Screw the moon filter onto the bottom of your chosen eyepiece before inserting it into the diagonal mirror.
4.6 Movement and Tracking
The telescope mount allows for both horizontal (360°) and vertical (90°) movement. Use the aiming control handle to smoothly track celestial objects as they move across the sky.

5. Maintenance
- Cleaning Lenses: Use a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optical lenses. Gently wipe the lens surfaces. Avoid touching the lenses with your fingers. For stubborn smudges, use a small amount of optical cleaning fluid on the cloth, not directly on the lens.
- Storage: When not in use, store the telescope in a dry, dust-free environment. Keep all caps on the telescope tube and eyepieces to prevent dust accumulation.
- Handling: Always handle the telescope and its components with care to avoid damage.
6. Troubleshooting
- Image is blurry: Adjust the focusing knob slowly. Ensure the correct eyepiece is fully inserted and secured. Check for condensation on the lenses.
- Cannot see anything: Ensure the lens caps are removed from both the main telescope and the finderscope. Verify that the finderscope is properly aligned with the main telescope. Start with the lowest magnification eyepiece (H20mm) to locate objects.
- Image is upside down or reversed: This is normal for astronomical telescopes. For terrestrial viewing, use the 1.5X erecting eyepiece to correct the image orientation.
- Telescope is unstable: Ensure the tripod legs are fully extended and locked, and placed on a flat, stable surface. Tighten all mounting screws.
