1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Jaxguom 3-piece foldable shower screen. Designed for bathtubs, this screen offers a practical and space-saving solution for converting your bathtub into a shower area. Please read all instructions carefully before beginning installation to ensure proper setup and safe use.

2. Safety Instructions

• Always wear appropriate safety gear, including safety glasses and gloves, during installation.
• Ensure the installation surface (wall) is structurally sound and capable of supporting the weight of the shower screen.
• Handle glass panels with extreme care. Tempered safety glass is designed to break into small, blunt pieces if shattered, but sharp edges can still occur.
• Do not overtighten screws, as this may damage components or the wall.
• Keep children and pets away from the installation area.
• If you are unsure about any part of the installation process, consult a qualified professional.

3. Package Contents

4. Setup and Installation

The installation process requires careful attention to detail. Ensure you have all necessary tools (e.g., drill, level, measuring tape, screwdriver) before starting.

4.1 Product Dimensions

Before installation, measure your bathtub and wall area to ensure compatibility with the shower screen's dimensions (120 cm width x 140 cm height).

4.2 Wall Compensation

The wall profile allows for a 0-10 mm adjustment to compensate for uneven walls, ensuring a secure and flush fit.

4.3 Mounting Options (Left or Right)

The shower screen can be mounted on either the left or right side of your bathtub, depending on your bathroom layout and preference. The glass panels can open both inwards and outwards.

4.4 Step-by-Step Installation Guide

1. Prepare the Area: Clear the bathtub and surrounding wall area. Ensure the wall is clean, dry, and free of debris.
2. Mark Wall Profile Position: Place the wall profile against the wall at the desired height, ensuring it is level. Mark the drilling points for the mounting holes.
3. Drill Holes: Using an appropriate drill bit for your wall type, drill holes at the marked positions. Insert wall plugs.
4. Attach Wall Profile: Secure the wall profile to the wall using the provided screws. Adjust for wall compensation if necessary (refer to Figure 4.2).
5. Install Glass Panels: Carefully attach the first glass panel to the wall profile using the hinges and brackets. Ensure it is securely fastened and aligned.
6. Connect Remaining Panels: Attach the subsequent glass panels to each other using the provided hinges. Ensure smooth movement and proper alignment.
7. Apply Seals: Install the rubber seals along the bottom edge of the glass panels and between panels to prevent water leakage.
8. Test Movement: Gently open and close the panels to ensure they move freely and fold correctly.
9. Seal Edges: Apply a waterproof silicone sealant along the joint between the wall profile and the wall, and along the bottom edge where the screen meets the bathtub, to ensure a watertight seal. Allow adequate drying time before use.

5. Usage

The Jaxguom shower screen is designed for flexible use and space-saving storage.

• Folding Mechanism: The 3-piece glass panels can be swiveled 180° in both directions (inwards and outwards). This allows you to fully extend the screen during showering to contain water and then fold it neatly against the wall when not in use, maximizing bathroom space.

6. Maintenance

Regular cleaning will help maintain the appearance and functionality of your shower screen.

• Cleaning Glass: The 6 mm tempered safety glass features a double-sided nano-coating, which helps repel limescale and dirt. Clean the glass panels regularly with a soft cloth and mild, non-abrasive glass cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive sponges, as these can damage the nano-coating.
• Cleaning Frame and Hinges: Wipe the aluminum frame and hinges with a damp cloth and mild soap. Dry thoroughly to prevent water spots.
• Checking Seals: Periodically inspect the rubber seals for wear or damage. Replace them if necessary to maintain a watertight seal.

7. Troubleshooting

• Water Leakage:
  • Check that all rubber seals are correctly installed and undamaged.
  • Ensure the silicone sealant along the wall profile and bathtub edge is intact and properly applied. Reapply if necessary.
  • Verify that the shower screen is level and securely mounted.
• Difficulty Folding/Opening:
  • Check hinges for any obstructions or debris.
  • Ensure screws on hinges are not overtightened or too loose. Adjust as needed.
  • Verify that the panels are aligned correctly.
• Glass Appears Streaky:
  • Use a clean, soft microfiber cloth for cleaning.
  • Ensure you are using a suitable glass cleaner and wiping dry immediately after cleaning.
