1. Introduction
The POROMETISTO DSF06 is an advanced 2-in-1 wall scanner designed for comprehensive wall inspection. It combines a deep-scanning stud detector with a high-precision moisture meter, making it an essential tool for DIY enthusiasts and professionals alike. This device accurately detects wood, ferrous metals, non-ferrous metals, and live AC wires behind various surfaces, while also measuring moisture content in wood and building materials.

2. Safety Information
WARNING: Always turn off the electrical power, gas, and water supplies before penetrating any surface to prevent electric shock, gas leaks, or water damage.
- Do not rely solely on the detector to locate live wires. Always exercise caution and verify findings with other methods if possible.
- Ensure the device is calibrated correctly before each use.
- Keep the device dry and clean. Avoid exposure to extreme temperatures or humidity.
- This device is intended for use on gypsum drywall, plywood sheathing, bare wood floors, and coated wood walls. It is not for use on concrete, mortar, block, brick, carpet, foil-faced materials, metal surfaces, tile, or glass.

3. Setup
3.1. Battery Installation
The POROMETISTO DSF06 requires one 9V battery (included in the kit). To install the battery:
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
- Slide or unclip the cover to open it.
- Connect the 9V battery to the battery clip, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Place the battery into the compartment and close the cover securely.
3.2. Initial Calibration
Before each use, the device must be calibrated on a flat, clear surface (e.g., a wall without known obstructions) to ensure accurate readings.
- Press the power button to turn on the device.
- Place the device flat against the surface where you intend to scan.
- Wait for the device to automatically calibrate. The icon on the screen will stop flashing, and the green indicator light will turn on, signaling that calibration is complete.
- Once calibrated, you can begin scanning.

4. Operation
4.1. Stud Finder Mode
The stud finder mode allows detection of various materials behind walls.
- Ferrous Metals: Up to 4.72 inches (120 mm) deep.
- Non-Ferrous Metals (Copper): Up to 3.15 inches (80 mm) deep.
- Live AC Wires: Up to 1.97 inches (50 mm) deep.
- Wood (Deep Mode): Up to 1.50 inches (38 mm) deep.
- Wood (Exact Mode): Up to 0.79 inches (20 mm) deep.

4.1.1. Deep Mode vs. Exact Mode
The device offers two modes for wood detection: Deep mode for greater penetration and Exact mode for more precise positioning of shallower objects.

4.1.2. Metal Detection
The device differentiates between ferrous and non-ferrous metals, indicated by magnetic or non-magnetic symbols on the display.

4.1.3. Visual and Audio Alerts
The DSF06 provides clear feedback through a tricolor indicator light and an audible beep:
- Green Light: Device is ready for scanning.
- Yellow Light: Indicates proximity to a target.
- Red Light & Beep: Target has been found. The intensity of the beep and the display's signal bars increase as you get closer to the center of the object.

4.2. Moisture Meter Mode
The moisture meter function measures humidity in different materials with an accuracy of ±2%.
- Wood: Measurement range from 5% to 50%.
- Building Materials (Plasterboard, Concrete): Measurement range from 1.5% to 33%.

4.2.1. Moisture Level Indicators
The device provides a three-color reminder system for moisture levels:

4.3. Additional Functions
4.3.1. Data Hold
Short press the "HOLD" button to lock the current measurement data on the screen.

4.3.2. Unit Switching & Sound Control
- Unit Switching (cm/in): Long press the "Stud Finder" button and the "HOLD" button simultaneously to toggle between centimeter and inch measurement units.
- Sound Control: Long press the "Stud Finder" button and the "Live Wire" button simultaneously to toggle the sound alerts on or off.

4.4. Marking Center
The device features a centering hole to help mark the exact location of the detected object, ensuring precise drilling.

5. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place when not in use. If storing for extended periods, remove the 9V battery to prevent leakage.
- Battery Replacement: Replace the 9V battery when the low battery indicator appears on the display.
6. Troubleshooting
6.1. Erratic Scans or Inaccurate Readings
If you experience erratic scans or inaccurate readings, consider the following:
- Recalibration: Ensure the device is calibrated on a clear, flat surface before each scan.
- Surface Conditions: Moisture or humidity within the wall cavity or drywall, or recently applied paint or wallpaper that has not dried completely, can affect readings. Allow the wall to dry for a few days if this is suspected.
- Material Limitations: The device is not designed for use on concrete, mortar, block, brick, carpet, foil-faced materials, metal surfaces, tile, or glass. Attempting to scan these materials may result in false readings or no detection.

6.2. No Power
- Check if the 9V battery is installed correctly with the right polarity.
- Replace the battery with a fresh one if the current battery is depleted.
