6. Water Drainage Options

Your OLIXIS Dehumidifier offers two methods for water removal:

6.1 Water Tank Drainage

The unit is equipped with a 1.32 gallon (5 liter) removable water tank. When the tank is full, the dehumidifier will automatically shut off and an indicator light will illuminate. Carefully remove the tank, empty the collected water, and reinsert it securely to resume operation.

6.2 Continuous Drainage

For continuous operation without needing to empty the tank, connect the included 3.28 ft drain hose to the continuous drain outlet on the unit. Route the hose to a suitable drain (e.g., floor drain, sink) ensuring it is sloped downwards for gravity drainage. This method is ideal for basements or areas requiring prolonged dehumidification.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your dehumidifier.

7.1 Cleaning the Air Filter

The removable and washable air filter should be cleaned regularly (every 2-4 weeks, depending on usage and air quality). A clean filter improves air quality and dehumidifier efficiency.

  1. Unplug the dehumidifier from the power outlet.
  2. Remove the air filter from the back or side of the unit.
  3. Wash the filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
  4. Allow the filter to air dry completely before reinstalling it. Do not use a dryer or direct heat.

7.2 Cleaning the Unit Exterior

Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasives, or solvents, as these can damage the surface.

7.3 Auto Defrost Feature

The dehumidifier is equipped with an automatic defrost system. If frost builds up on the evaporator coils in colder conditions, the unit will automatically enter defrost mode to melt the ice. During this time, dehumidification may temporarily pause. Do not attempt to manually remove frost.
