Read all instructions carefully before operating the lawn mower. Failure to follow these safety instructions may result in serious injury or property damage. Keep this manual for future reference.

  • Personal Safety: Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including eye protection, sturdy footwear, and long pants. Do not operate the mower barefoot or in open-toed sandals.
  • Electrical Safety: Ensure the power cord is in good condition and free from damage. Do not operate the mower in wet conditions or rain. Always disconnect the power supply before cleaning, performing maintenance, or when leaving the mower unattended.
  • Work Area Safety: Keep children, pets, and bystanders away from the mowing area. Clear the area of any objects such as rocks, sticks, or toys that could be thrown by the blade.
  • Operation: Never place hands or feet near rotating parts. Do not attempt to clear grass from the discharge chute while the mower is running. Always push the mower forward; do not pull it towards you.
  • Maintenance: Regularly inspect the blade for sharpness and damage. Replace worn or damaged parts with genuine Steelite replacement parts.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Adjusting Cutting Height

The mower features a 5-way height adjustment system, allowing you to select a cutting height between 0.98 inches and 2.56 inches. Use the single lever located near the wheels to adjust the deck height to your desired setting. A higher setting is recommended for longer grass or during hot weather to prevent scalping.

  1. Press Lock-Off Button: First, press and hold the lock-off button located on the handle.
  2. Engage ON/OFF Trigger: While holding the lock-off button, squeeze the ON/OFF trigger. The mower will start.
  3. Release Lock-Off Button: Once the mower is running, you can release the lock-off button, but continue to hold the ON/OFF trigger to maintain operation.

To stop the mower, simply release the ON/OFF trigger.

4.3 Mowing Tips

  • Mow in overlapping rows to ensure an even cut.
  • Avoid cutting more than one-third of the grass blade length at a time.
  • For best results, mow when the grass is dry.
  • Be mindful of the power cord's position to avoid cutting it.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your lawn mower. Always disconnect the power cord before performing any maintenance.

  • Cleaning: After each use, clean the mower deck and grass bag. Remove any accumulated grass clippings from the underside of the deck and around the blade. Use a damp cloth for external surfaces. Do not use water jets or high-pressure cleaners.
  • Blade Inspection: Periodically inspect the cutting blade for sharpness, cracks, or damage. A dull blade can tear grass, leading to an unhealthy lawn. If the blade is damaged, replace it with a genuine Steelite replacement blade.
  • Storage: Store the mower in a dry, protected area away from direct sunlight and moisture. The compact design allows for easy storage in tight spaces.
