Setup

Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge your Wahl Senior 2.0 clipper. Connect the USB-C cable to the clipper or the charging stand, and then plug the transformer into a suitable power outlet. The charge indicator light will illuminate during charging. A full charge takes approximately 75 minutes and provides up to 2.5 hours of run time. For quick use, a 5-minute charge can provide enough power for about 10 minutes of cutting.

Blade Adjustment (Zero-Gap)

The Senior 2.0 blade can be adjusted for a zero-gap setting for extremely close cutting and precise fading. To adjust:

  1. Ensure the clipper is turned off and unplugged.
  2. Loosen the two screws on the blade set slightly.
  3. Carefully align the top blade (cutter) with the bottom blade (stationary blade) so that the cutting edge of the top blade is perfectly even with, or slightly behind, the cutting edge of the bottom blade. Ensure no teeth on the top blade extend beyond the bottom blade.
  4. Tighten the screws securely.
  5. Test the blade by carefully running your finger across it to ensure it is smooth and does not catch.

Caution: Improper zero-gap adjustment can lead to skin irritation or cuts. If unsure, consult a professional or refer to the detailed manual.

Using Guide Combs

Select the desired guide comb for the specific cutting length. Align the comb with the clipper blade and firmly snap it into place. To remove, gently pull the comb away from the blade.

Taper Lever Operation

The taper lever allows for precise adjustment of cutting length without changing guide combs. It can be used in two modes:

  • 5-Click Stepped Adjustment: Move the lever to distinct click positions for predefined cutting lengths.
  • Continuous Control: For finer adjustments, the lever can be moved smoothly between click positions, offering infinite blending possibilities.

Maintenance

Blade Cleaning and Oiling

Regular cleaning and oiling are crucial for maintaining the performance and longevity of your clipper blades:

  1. After each use, brush away any loose hair from the blades using the provided cleaning brush.
  2. Apply 2-3 drops of Wahl blade oil across the top blade teeth and 1 drop on each heel of the blade.
  3. Turn the clipper on for a few seconds to allow the oil to distribute evenly.
  4. Wipe off any excess oil with a soft cloth.

Note: Only use Wahl blade oil. Other oils may contain petroleum distillates or solvents that can damage the blade finish or impede clipper performance.

General Cleaning

Wipe the clipper body with a clean, damp cloth. Do not immerse the clipper in water or use abrasive cleaners.

Storage

Store the clipper in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Always replace the blade guard when not in use to protect the blades.

Troubleshooting

  • Clipper not turning on: Ensure the clipper is charged. If using corded, check the power connection and ensure the battery is not completely discharged (refer to safety information for initial charging steps).
  • Poor cutting performance / pulling hair:
    • Blades may be dull or misaligned. Check blade alignment and consider professional sharpening or replacement if dull.
    • Blades may be dirty or lack oil. Clean and oil the blades as per maintenance instructions.
    • Hair buildup in the motor area. Ensure the clipper is clean.
  • Clipper becomes loud during operation: This could indicate a need for cleaning and oiling, or potential internal wear. Ensure blades are properly oiled. If the issue persists, contact customer support.
  • Battery not holding charge: Ensure the charging cable and adapter are functioning correctly. If the battery life has significantly decreased over time, it may be reaching the end of its lifespan.
