4.1 Choosing a Location

For optimal performance, consider the following:

  • Install at least one alarm on each level of your home, including basements and attics.
  • Place alarms near sleeping areas and in rooms where fuel-burning appliances are located.
  • Avoid placing the alarm in dead air spaces, such as at the peak of a vaulted ceiling or in corners where air circulation is poor.
  • Keep the alarm at least 15 feet (4.5 meters) away from fuel-burning appliances to prevent nuisance alarms.
  • Avoid placing near windows, doors, or vents where drafts could affect readings.

4.2 Powering On

Simply plug the device into a standard electrical outlet (110-240V). The device will automatically power on and begin its self-initialization sequence. The digital display will illuminate, showing current readings for CO, smoke, temperature, and humidity.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Self-Test Function

It is recommended to test the alarm weekly. Press the rightmost button (labeled 12 in the diagram) once. The alarm will flash LED status lights and sound the 85 dB alarm to confirm proper functionality. This test verifies the electronic circuitry and alarm operation.

5.2 Smart Silence Function

In case of a nuisance alarm (e.g., from cooking fumes), you can temporarily silence the audible alarm. Press the leftmost button (labeled 10 in the diagram) once. The alarm will silence for a short period and automatically reactivate if conditions worsen or the hazard persists.

5.3 Adjustable Smoke Sensitivity

The smoke detection sensitivity can be adjusted between two levels (S1 and S2) to suit different environments, such as kitchens or bedrooms.

To adjust smoke sensitivity, press the middle button (labeled 12 in the diagram) three times in quick succession. The display will indicate whether S1 (normal sensitivity) or S2 (high sensitivity) is active.

5.4 One-Key Unit Switching (°F/°C)

You can switch the temperature display between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F).

To switch the temperature unit, press and hold the middle button (labeled 12 in the diagram) for approximately 3 seconds. The display will change between °C and °F.

5.5 Three-Level Backlight Adjustment

The display backlight can be adjusted to three levels: Screen Off, Low Brightness, and High Brightness.

To adjust the backlight, press the middle button (labeled 11 in the diagram) once to cycle through the modes: Screen Off, Low Brightness, High Brightness.

6. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and reliability of your VETOUCH L6066 alarm.

6.1 Regular Cleaning

Dust and debris can accumulate on the alarm and interfere with its sensors. Clean the alarm at least once a month:

  • Unplug the alarm from the power outlet.
  • Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the exterior of the alarm. Do not use cleaning solvents or abrasive cleaners.
  • Gently vacuum around the alarm's vents and openings using a soft brush attachment to remove dust. Do not remove the cover or attempt to clean inside the alarm.
  • Plug the alarm back into the outlet.

6.2 Testing Frequency

Test the alarm weekly using the self-test function as described in Section 5.1. This confirms the alarm's operational status.
