  • Fixed Needle Screw: Secures the needle in place.
  • Tension Control: Adjusts the thread tension for different fabrics.
  • Needle: The primary component for stitching.
  • Presser Foot: Holds the fabric firmly against the feed dogs.
  • Rotating Wheel: Manually controls needle movement.
  • Bobbin Holder: Holds the thread bobbin.
  • Wire Hole: Guides the thread.
  • Switch: Powers the machine on/off.
  • Power Socket: For optional 6V power adapter.
  • Battery Bay: Houses 4 AA batteries.

4. Setup

4.1 Power Supply

The handheld sewing machine can be powered by two methods:

  1. Batteries: Insert 4 AA batteries (not included) into the battery bay. Ensure correct polarity.
  2. Power Adapter: Connect a 6V power adapter (not included) to the power socket.

4.2 Threading the Machine

Proper threading is crucial for smooth operation. Follow these steps:

  1. Place a thread bobbin onto the bobbin holder.
  2. Guide the thread through the wire hole.
  3. Pass the thread through the tension control disc.
  4. Thread the needle from front to back using the needle threader if needed.
  5. Pull approximately 10 cm of thread through the needle eye.

5. Operating Instructions

Once the machine is threaded and powered, you can begin sewing:

  1. Lift the presser foot and place the fabric underneath, aligning the seam with the needle.
  2. Lower the presser foot to secure the fabric.
  3. Hold the fabric gently with one hand and press the power switch to start sewing.
  4. Guide the fabric slowly and steadily through the machine. The speed at which you guide the fabric will determine the stitch length.
  5. To finish a seam, press the power switch to stop the machine. Lift the presser foot and gently pull the fabric away. Cut the thread, leaving a small tail.
  6. To secure the stitch, tie a knot at the end of the seam.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your sewing machine:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft brush to remove lint and dust from the needle area and under the presser foot after each use.
  • Needle Replacement: Replace the needle regularly, especially if it becomes bent, dull, or breaks. To replace, loosen the fixed needle screw, remove the old needle, insert a new one with the flat side facing the back, and tighten the screw.
  • Storage: Store the machine and accessories in the provided storage case in a dry, cool place when not in use.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your sewing machine, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Machine not starting: Check if batteries are correctly inserted or if the power adapter is properly connected. Ensure the power switch is in the 'ON' position.
  • Skipped stitches: This often indicates a bent or dull needle. Replace the needle. Also, ensure the thread is correctly tensioned and threaded through all guides.
  • Thread breaking: Check for proper threading, ensure the tension is not too tight, and inspect the needle for burrs or damage. Use good quality thread.
  • Fabric not moving: Ensure the presser foot is lowered and you are gently guiding the fabric.
