Product Overview
The HCT-322 features a large digital display and intuitive buttons for easy programming. Key components include:
- Display Screen: Shows current time, program settings, battery status, and operational indicators.
- Buttons:
- NOW / DELAY: Adjusts current time or sets watering delay.
- +/-: Adjusts values during programming.
- ESC / OFF: Exits current setting or turns off the timer.
- OK / Gear Icon: Confirms settings or enters programming mode.
- Watering Can Icon: Activates manual watering.
- Lock Icon: Activates child lock.
- Water Inlet: Connects to the faucet. Features a removable filter.
- Water Outlet: Connects to the garden hose.

Setup
1. Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the timer.
- Open the compartment cover.
- Insert two (2) new 1.5V AA alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely. The display will light up.
2. Connecting the Water Timer
- Ensure the O-ring is properly seated in the timer's inlet connector.
- Screw the timer onto your outdoor faucet (tap) by hand until it is snug. Do not overtighten. The 360° movable connector allows for easy installation in various orientations.
- Connect your garden hose to the water outlet at the bottom of the timer.
- Turn on your faucet fully. The timer will control the water flow.

Operating Instructions
1. Setting Current Time
- Press the NOW button. The hour digits will flash.
- Use the +/- buttons to adjust the hour.
- Press OK to confirm the hour and move to minutes.
- Use the +/- buttons to adjust the minutes.
- Press OK to confirm and save the current time.
2. Programming Watering Schedule
The timer allows you to set a start time, watering duration, and frequency.
- Press the Gear Icon (OK) button to enter programming mode. The 'START TIME' hour digits will flash.
- Set Start Time: Use +/- to adjust the hour, then press OK. Adjust minutes, then press OK.
- Set Watering Duration ('HOW LONG'): The 'MIN' digits will flash. Use +/- to set the watering duration from 1 second to 99 minutes. Press OK.
- Set Watering Frequency ('HOW OFTEN'): The 'HRS' digits will flash. Use +/- to set how often the timer waters, from 1 hour to 15 days. Press OK.
- The display will show 'NEXT START DAY' and the countdown to the next watering cycle. The program is now set.

3. Manual Watering
To water immediately without affecting your programmed schedule:
- Press the Watering Can Icon button.
- Use +/- to set the desired manual watering duration.
- Press OK to start manual watering. The timer will water for the set duration and then return to its programmed schedule.
4. Delay Function
To temporarily pause your watering schedule:
- Press the DELAY button.
- Use +/- to set the desired delay period (e.g., 1 hour, 2 hours).
- Press OK to confirm. The timer will resume its schedule after the delay period.
5. Child Lock
To prevent accidental changes to settings:
- Press and hold the Lock Icon button for a few seconds until the lock symbol appears on the display.
- To unlock, press and hold the Lock Icon button again until the symbol disappears.

Maintenance
1. Cleaning the Filter
Periodically check and clean the filter located in the water inlet to prevent debris from clogging the timer and affecting water flow.
- Turn off the faucet and remove the timer.
- Carefully pull out the filter screen from the inlet.
- Rinse the filter under running water to remove any accumulated debris.
- Reinsert the clean filter and reattach the timer.
2. Winter Storage
Before the first frost, remove the timer from the faucet, remove the batteries, and store the unit indoors in a dry, frost-free location. Freezing water can damage the internal components.
Troubleshooting
- No water flow: Check if the faucet is fully open. Ensure batteries are installed correctly and have sufficient charge. Clean the inlet filter. Verify the program settings.
- Timer not turning on: Replace batteries with new ones. Ensure batteries are inserted with correct polarity.
- Leaks from connections: Ensure all connections are tightened properly. Check if the O-ring is correctly seated and not damaged. Replace O-ring if necessary.
- Incorrect watering schedule: Re-enter the program settings carefully, ensuring the current time is set accurately.
