Setup

1. Charging the Keyboard

Before initial use, fully charge the keyboard. Connect the provided Type-C charging cable to the keyboard's Type-C port and the other end to a USB power source (e.g., computer USB port, USB wall adapter).

  • Charging Time: Approximately 4 hours.
  • Battery Capacity: 2000 mAh Lithium Ion Battery.
  • Battery Life: Up to 100 hours with RGB lights on, up to 160 hours standby with RGB lights on.

2. Connection Modes

The GMK 100 supports three connection modes: Bluetooth, 2.4G Wireless, and Wired (Type-C).

2.1. Wired Connection

Connect the Type-C cable directly from the keyboard to your computer's USB port. The keyboard will automatically switch to wired mode and begin charging.

2.2. 2.4G Wireless Connection

  1. Locate the 2.4G USB receiver, typically stored in a compartment on the keyboard or in the packaging.
  2. Plug the 2.4G USB receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
  3. Switch the keyboard's mode selector to 2.4G wireless mode (refer to the keyboard's physical switch or key combination for mode selection, usually indicated by an icon).
  4. The keyboard should automatically connect.

2.3. Bluetooth 5.0 Connection

The keyboard can pair with up to 3 different Bluetooth devices.

  1. Switch the keyboard's mode selector to Bluetooth mode.
  2. To enter pairing mode for a specific profile (e.g., BT1, BT2, BT3), press and hold the corresponding function key combination (e.g., Fn + 1, Fn + 2, Fn + 3) until the indicator light flashes rapidly.
  3. On your device (computer, tablet, smartphone), go to Bluetooth settings and search for new devices.
  4. Select "Armaggeddon GMK 100" from the list of available devices to pair.
  5. Once paired, the indicator light will stop flashing.
  6. To switch between paired Bluetooth devices, press the corresponding Fn + (1, 2, or 3) key combination.

Operation

1. Key Functions and Layout

The GMK 100 features a 60% compact layout with full key anti-ghosting. Many functions are accessed via the Function (Fn) key combinations.

Refer to the keyboard's keycap legends for specific Fn key combinations for multimedia controls, lighting adjustments, and other functions.

  • Anti-Ghosting: Full key anti-ghosting ensures all key presses are registered accurately, even during rapid, simultaneous inputs.
  • RGB Lighting: The keyboard features 22 varieties of RGB light effects. Use Fn key combinations (e.g., Fn + \ |) to cycle through lighting modes, and other combinations to adjust brightness and speed.

2. Hot-Swappable Switches

The GMK 100 is equipped with hot-swappable sockets, allowing you to change mechanical switches without soldering. This enables customization of typing feel and sound.

3. Software for Macro Programming

The keyboard is software-ready for macro programming. Visit the official Armaggeddon website to download the dedicated software for the GMK 100 model. This software allows for advanced customization of key assignments, macros, and RGB lighting effects.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

To maintain your keyboard's appearance and functionality:

  • Disconnect the keyboard from all power sources before cleaning.
  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or a mild cleaning solution to wipe the keycaps and chassis.
  • For dust and debris between keycaps, use compressed air or a small brush.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

2. Switch Replacement

The GMK 100 comes with 2 replacement switches and a switch puller. To replace a switch:

  1. Gently remove the keycap using a keycap puller (not included, but often part of a switch puller tool).
  2. Use the provided switch puller to carefully grip the top and bottom clips of the switch.
  3. Pull the switch straight up to remove it from the PCB.
  4. Align the pins of the new switch with the holes on the PCB.
  5. Gently push the new switch straight down until it clicks into place. Ensure the pins are not bent.
  6. Reattach the keycap.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Solution
Keyboard not responding (Wired)
  • Ensure the Type-C cable is securely connected to both the keyboard and the computer.
  • Try a different USB port on your computer.
  • Test with a different Type-C cable if available.
Keyboard not connecting (2.4G Wireless)
  • Ensure the 2.4G USB receiver is properly plugged into a USB port.
  • Verify the keyboard is switched to 2.4G wireless mode.
  • Try plugging the receiver into a different USB port.
  • Ensure the keyboard is charged.
Keyboard not connecting (Bluetooth)
  • Ensure the keyboard is switched to Bluetooth mode and in pairing mode (indicator light flashing).
  • On your device, remove any previous "Armaggeddon GMK 100" pairings and attempt to pair again.
  • Ensure your device's Bluetooth is enabled.
  • Ensure the keyboard is charged.
RGB lighting not working or stuck
  • Check if the keyboard battery is low; charge the keyboard.
  • Try cycling through RGB modes using Fn key combinations.
  • Perform a factory reset if available (refer to manufacturer's website for specific key combination).
Keys not registering or double-typing
  • This could indicate a faulty switch. Use the provided switch puller to replace the problematic switch with one of the spares.
  • Ensure the switch is fully seated in the socket.
