Important Safeguards
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons, including the following:
- Read all instructions before operating the coffee maker.
- Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
- To protect against fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, do not immerse cord, plugs, or the appliance in water or other liquid.
- Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
- Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
- Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner. Contact customer service for examination, repair, or adjustment.
- The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
- Do not use outdoors.
- Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
- Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
- Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to 'off', then remove plug from wall outlet.
- Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
- The carafe is designed for use with this appliance only. It must never be used on a range top.
- Do not place a hot carafe on a wet or cold surface.
- Do not use a cracked carafe or a carafe having a loose or weakened handle.
- Do not clean carafe with cleansers, steel wool pads, or other abrasive materials.
- Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during the brewing cycles.

Setup
1. Unpacking
- Carefully remove all packaging materials and the coffee maker from the box.
- Remove any labels or stickers from the coffee maker.
- Keep packaging materials for future storage or disposal.
2. Initial Cleaning
- Before first use, wash the glass carafe, reusable filter, and measuring scoop in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
- Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not immerse the coffee maker in water.
3. First Use Cycle
To clean the internal components before brewing coffee:
- Fill the water reservoir with clean water up to the 12-cup mark.
- Place the empty reusable filter into the filter basket.
- Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
- Press the 'Brew/Off' button to start a brew cycle.
- Allow the cycle to complete. Discard the water from the carafe.
- Repeat this process once more with fresh water.
Operating Instructions
1. Basic Brewing
- Open the top lid of the coffee maker.
- Fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water to your desired number of cups. Do not exceed the 12-cup maximum fill line.
- Place the reusable filter into the filter basket.
- Add ground coffee to the filter using the measuring scoop. A general guideline is one level scoop per cup, adjusting to personal preference.
- Close the top lid securely.
- Place the empty glass carafe onto the warming plate.
- Press the 'Brew/Off' button to begin brewing. The indicator light will illuminate.
- Once brewing is complete, the coffee maker will automatically switch to 'Keep Warm' mode.

2. Setting Brew Strength
You can customize your coffee's strength:
- Before brewing, press the 'Strength' button repeatedly to cycle through 'Regular', 'Gourmet', or 'Bold' options.
- The selected strength will be displayed on the screen.

3. 1-4 Cup Mode
For smaller servings, activate the 1-4 cup mode to ensure optimal flavor extraction:
- Before brewing, press the '1-4 Cups' button. An indicator light will confirm activation.
- This mode adjusts the brewing process for smaller volumes, delivering a bolder flavor.

4. Programmable Auto Brew Timer
Set the coffee maker to brew automatically at a specific time:
- First, set the current time using the 'Clock' button and the '+' and '-' buttons.
- Prepare the coffee maker for brewing (water, filter, coffee grounds, carafe in place).
- Press the 'Program' button. The display will flash.
- Use the '+' and '-' buttons to set your desired brew time (up to 24 hours in advance).
- Press 'Program' again to confirm. The 'Program' indicator light will illuminate.
- The coffee maker will automatically start brewing at the set time.
5. Pause & Serve Feature
This feature allows you to pour a cup of coffee before the brewing cycle is complete:
- During the brewing cycle, you can temporarily remove the carafe from the warming plate.
- The flow of coffee will automatically stop for a short period.
- Return the carafe to the warming plate within 20 seconds to prevent overflow. Brewing will resume.

6. Keep Warm Mode
After brewing, the coffee maker automatically enters 'Keep Warm' mode:
- The warming plate will keep the coffee at an optimal temperature for up to 4 hours.
- After 4 hours, the coffee maker will automatically shut off.
- To manually turn off the 'Keep Warm' mode before 4 hours, press the 'Brew/Off' button.
Maintenance and Cleaning
1. Daily Cleaning
- Always unplug the coffee maker before cleaning and allow it to cool completely.
- Wash the glass carafe, reusable filter, and measuring scoop after each use with warm, soapy water. These parts are also dishwasher safe.
- Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker and the warming plate with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
- Ensure the warming plate is clean and dry before storing or next use.
2. Descaling / Auto-Clean Reminder
Mineral deposits (scale) can build up in your coffee maker over time, affecting performance and coffee taste. The 'Auto-Clean Reminder' will alert you when descaling is recommended.
- When the 'Clean' indicator light illuminates, it's time to descale.
- Fill the water reservoir with a mixture of white vinegar and water (e.g., 1 part vinegar to 2 parts water). Do not exceed the 12-cup mark.
- Place the empty reusable filter into the filter basket.
- Place the empty carafe on the warming plate.
- Press the 'Clean' button. The coffee maker will perform a special cleaning cycle.
- Once the cycle is complete, discard the vinegar solution.
- Run 2-3 full cycles with fresh, clean water to rinse out any remaining vinegar taste.
- The 'Clean' indicator light will reset after the descaling process.
