5. Maintenance

  • Regularly inspect all bolts, nuts, and moving parts for tightness and wear. Tighten as necessary.
  • Clean the rack periodically with mild soap and water to remove dirt, road grime, and salt, especially after exposure to harsh weather conditions.
  • Lubricate moving parts (e.g., pivot points, locking mechanisms) with a suitable lubricant to ensure smooth operation and prevent corrosion.
  • Store the rack in a dry place when not in use to prolong its lifespan.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1. Rack Wobbles in Hitch

Ensure the anti-wobble hitch tightener is correctly installed and tightened. If wobble persists, check if your hitch receiver is the correct 2-inch size and free from excessive wear.

6.2. Bikes Not Secure

Verify that all wheel straps are tightly fastened and the vertical clamping arms are securely ratcheted onto the bike frames/seat posts. Adjust wheel chocks to properly cradle the tires. Ensure the bike's weight does not exceed the per-bike or total load capacity.

6.3. Ramp Does Not Fit Securely

Ensure the ramp is fully extended and properly seated in the designated slots on the bike tray. Check for any debris or damage that might prevent proper seating.
