3. Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for the optimal performance and longevity of your ice maker. Follow these steps carefully.
3.1 Unpacking
- Remove all packaging materials, including tape and protective films.
- Inspect the unit for any shipping damage. Report any damage to your retailer immediately.
- Allow the unit to stand upright for at least 24 hours before plugging it in to allow the refrigerant to settle.
3.2 Placement
- The ice maker can be installed as a freestanding unit or built-in under a counter.
- Ensure the installation location has a stable, level surface capable of supporting the unit's weight (65 lbs).
- Maintain adequate clearance for the front-venting system. No side or rear clearance is required for ventilation.
- Avoid direct sunlight or heat sources.

3.3 Water and Drain Connection
Connect the ice maker to a cold water supply and ensure proper drainage.
- Connect the water inlet hose to a potable water supply with a shut-off valve.
- Install the provided water filter in the water line to reduce impurities.
- Connect the drain hose to a gravity drain. Ensure the drain hose has a continuous downward slope to prevent water backup.
- Check all connections for leaks before operating the unit.

3.4 Electrical Connection
- Plug the power cord into a dedicated, grounded 115V AC, 60Hz electrical outlet.
- Do not use an adapter or extension cord.
4. Operating Instructions
Your Coolake ice maker is designed for simple operation. Familiarize yourself with the control panel and settings.
4.1 Initial Startup
- After installation and allowing the unit to settle, plug in the ice maker.
- Press the POWER button on the LCD control panel to turn on the unit.
- The unit will begin its first ice-making cycle. The first few batches of ice may be smaller or irregular; discard them.
4.2 LCD Control Panel
The intuitive LCD panel allows you to monitor and adjust settings.

- MODE: Selects different operating modes (if applicable).
- CLEAN: Initiates the self-cleaning cycle (press and hold for 3 seconds).
- SET: Adjusts ice cube thickness. Press to cycle through thickness options (Thin, Medium, Large).
- POWER: Turns the unit on or off.
- Indicators: Lights for Ice Making, Deicing, Ice Full, Cleaning, Over Temp, and Water Short provide status updates.
4.3 Adjusting Ice Cube Thickness
You can customize the ice cube thickness to suit your needs.
- Press the SET button on the LCD panel.
- Each press will cycle through available ice thickness settings, typically corresponding to different ice-making cycle durations (e.g., Thin/10 mins, Medium/15 mins, Large/20 mins).
- Select the desired thickness. The unit will remember this setting for subsequent cycles.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular maintenance ensures efficient operation and extends the lifespan of your ice maker.
5.1 Self-Cleaning Cycle
The ice maker features a convenient one-touch self-cleaning program.
- Ensure the ice bin is empty before starting the self-cleaning cycle.
- Press and hold the CLEAN button on the LCD panel for 3 seconds to activate the self-cleaning program.
- The unit will automatically clean the water lines and ice storage area. This process typically takes several minutes.
- Once complete, the unit will return to standby mode or resume ice production.

5.2 Exterior Cleaning
- Wipe the stainless steel exterior with a soft cloth and mild detergent.
- Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads that can scratch the surface.
5.3 Water Filter Replacement
The included water filter helps maintain ice quality and prevent mineral buildup. Replace the filter regularly as recommended by the manufacturer, typically every 3-6 months depending on water quality and usage.
