1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the operation and maintenance of your FiiO DISC Portable HiFi Music Player. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the device to ensure proper functionality and to maximize your listening experience.

2. What's in the Box

Upon unboxing your FiiO DISC, please verify that all the following items are included:

  • FiiO DISC Portable HiFi Music Player
  • USB Charging/Data Cable
  • Sticker (promotional item)

If any items are missing or damaged, please contact your retailer or FiiO customer support.

3. Setup

3.1 Charging the Device

Before initial use, fully charge the FiiO DISC. Connect the provided USB cable to the device's USB-C port and to a standard USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port. The charging indicator will show the charging status.

3.2 Inserting a MicroSD Card

The FiiO DISC supports MicroSD cards up to 2TB for music storage. Locate the MicroSD card slot on the side of the device. Gently insert the MicroSD card with the gold contacts facing down until it clicks into place. To remove, press the card inward until it springs out.

3.3 Powering On/Off

  • To Power On: Press and hold the Power button until the screen illuminates.
  • To Power Off: Press and hold the Power button until the power-off options appear on the screen. Select "Power Off" to shut down the device. A short press will turn the screen on/off.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Basic Controls and User Interface

The FiiO DISC features a circular touchscreen for navigation and control. Swipe gestures and taps are used to interact with the interface. The device also includes physical buttons for volume control and power.

4.2 Music Playback

After inserting a MicroSD card with music files, the device will scan and organize your library. Navigate to the music library section to browse by artist, album, genre, or folder. Tap on a track to begin playback. The playback screen displays album art, track information, and playback controls (play/pause, skip, repeat, shuffle).

4.3 Headphone Outputs

The FiiO DISC is equipped with both 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced headphone outputs. Connect your headphones to the appropriate port. The 4.4mm balanced output provides higher power and improved audio quality for compatible headphones.

4.4 Bluetooth Connectivity

The device supports Bluetooth 5.4 with LDAC for high-quality wireless audio. To pair with Bluetooth headphones or speakers:

  1. Go to the Bluetooth settings menu on your FiiO DISC.
  2. Enable Bluetooth and set your external device to pairing mode.
  3. Select your device from the list of available devices to pair.

4.5 Versatile Connectivity Options

The FiiO DISC offers multiple connectivity modes for various use scenarios:

  • USB DAC Mode: Connect the FiiO DISC to a computer via USB to use it as an external DAC, improving your computer's audio output.
  • USB Audio Output: Connect to an external DAC/amplifier for enhanced sound quality.
  • Coaxial Digital Output: Provides a digital audio signal for connection to compatible home audio systems or DACs.
  • AirPlay: Supports AirPlay for streaming audio (functionality may require a future firmware update).

4.6 Sound Settings and Equalizer

The FiiO DISC includes built-in equalizer (EQ) modes and digital filters to customize your audio experience. Access these settings through the device's menu to adjust the sound profile according to your preferences or music genre.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning the Device

Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to clean the FiiO DISC. Avoid using harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the device's finish and screen.

5.2 Battery Care

The FiiO DISC has a built-in 1450mAh battery, providing up to 12 hours of continuous playback. To prolong battery life:

  • Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.
  • Store the device in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.
  • Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures.

6. Troubleshooting

  • No sound: Check headphone connections, volume level, and ensure the correct output is selected. Test with different headphones.
  • Bluetooth connection issues: Ensure both devices are in pairing mode and within range. Try unpairing and re-pairing the devices.
  • Device freezes or becomes unresponsive: Press and hold the Power button for approximately 10 seconds to force a restart.
  • MicroSD card not recognized: Ensure the card is inserted correctly. Try reformatting the card (this will erase all data) or using a different card.
