5.2. Switching Magnetic Field Units (mG/µT)

The magnetic field radiation intensity can be displayed in either milligauss (mG) or microtesla (µT). To switch between these units:

  1. Ensure the device is powered on.
  2. Short press the "Unit/APO" button.
  3. The magnetic field unit displayed will toggle between mG and µT.

5.3. HOLD and MAX Functions

  • HOLD Function: Short press the "Hold/Max" button to freeze the current readings on the display. Press again to resume real-time measurement.
  • MAX Function: Long press the "Hold/Max" button to enter MAX mode. The display will show the highest radiation values detected since entering this mode. Long press again to exit MAX mode.

5.4. Interpreting Radiation Levels and Alarms

The RD630C provides a clear visual and audible indication of radiation levels:

  • Green (Safe): Indicates radiation levels are within safe limits.
  • Yellow (Alert): Indicates radiation levels are moderate and caution is advised.
  • Red (Avoid): Indicates radiation levels are high and prolonged exposure should be avoided.

An audible alarm will sound when radiation levels exceed the preset thresholds for "Alert" or "Avoid" categories. The display will also flash red for "Avoid" levels.

To clean the device, use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or immerse the device in water. Keep the display screen free from dust and smudges for clear readability.

6.2. Battery Replacement

When the battery indicator shows low power, replace the 9V battery promptly to ensure accurate measurements. Follow the battery installation steps in Section 4.1.

6.3. Storage

Store the device in its carrying case in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for an extended period, remove the battery to prevent leakage.

7. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Device does not power on.Low or dead battery; incorrect battery installation.Replace the 9V battery; ensure correct polarity.
Readings appear unstable or inaccurate.Interference from other electronic devices; device not held steadily.Move away from other strong EMF sources; hold the device still during measurement.
Audible alarm not sounding.Mute function is active; radiation levels are below alarm thresholds.Check if the mute icon is displayed and press the mute button to deactivate; verify radiation levels are above thresholds.
Automatic Power Off (APO) activates unexpectedly.APO function is enabled and device has been inactive for 15 minutes. This is normal behavior. If continuous monitoring is needed, disable APO as described in Section 5.5.
