Setup

1. Powering the Device

The main console can be powered by the included power adapter or by 3 AAA batteries (not included) for backup. The remote sensor requires 2 AAA batteries (not included).

  1. Insert 2 AAA batteries into the remote sensor, observing polarity.
  2. Insert 3 AAA batteries into the main console (optional, for backup).
  3. Connect the power adapter to the main console and plug it into a power outlet. The console will power on and begin searching for the remote sensor and atomic clock signal.

2. Sensor Placement

For accurate readings, proper placement of the remote sensor is crucial.

  • Place the remote sensor outdoors in a shaded area, protected from direct sunlight and rain.
  • Ensure it is within 328 feet (100 meters) of the main console, minimizing obstructions like thick walls or large metal objects.
  • The main console can be placed on a tabletop or mounted on a wall.

3. Initial Setup and Atomic Clock Synchronization

The weather station will automatically attempt to synchronize with the WWVB atomic clock signal for accurate time and date. This process may take several minutes or hours depending on your location and signal strength.

  • Ensure the console is placed in an area with good reception, away from electronic interference.
  • The WWVB icon will flash during synchronization and become solid once successful.
  • If Daylight Saving Time (DST) is enabled, the console will automatically adjust the time. Note that DST changes take effect at the next full hour after activation.

Operating Instructions

1. Display Overview

The 8.3-inch color display provides a clear overview of various weather parameters:

  • Indoor/Outdoor Temperature & Humidity: Current readings for both locations.
  • Weather Forecast: Icons indicating sunny, partly cloudy, cloudy, rainy, or snowy conditions.
  • Barometric Pressure: Current pressure reading and a history graph.
  • Atomic Clock & Date: Accurate time and date, automatically updated.
  • Moon Phase: Displays the current moon phase.
  • Comfort Indicator: Visual representation of indoor comfort levels.

2. Adjusting Backlight

The display features four adjustable backlight levels:

  • Press the light bulb icon on the top of the console to cycle through 30%, 50%, 100%, and 0% (off) brightness levels.
  • Turning off the backlight at night allows the unit to function as a simple alarm clock without bright illumination.

3. Setting Customizable Alerts and Alarm Clock

The weather station includes a programmable alarm clock with snooze function and customizable alerts for environmental changes.

  • Use the 'ALARM' button to access and set the alarm time.
  • Set high/low alerts for outdoor temperature, outdoor humidity, dew point, indoor temperature, indoor humidity, absolute pressure, and relative pressure.
  • These alerts help you monitor specific conditions, such as protecting plants or ensuring comfort in different areas.

4. Viewing History Graph

The weather station records and displays historical data for various parameters.

  • The history graph shows trends for indoor temperature, indoor humidity, outdoor temperature, outdoor humidity, and atmospheric relative pressure over the last 24 or 72 hours.
  • Use the 'HISTORY' button to navigate through the recorded data.

5. Multi-Channel Monitoring

The system supports up to 8 remote sensors, allowing you to monitor different areas simultaneously.

  • The main console comes with one remote sensor. Additional sensors are sold separately.
  • Use the 'CHANNEL' button to switch between different sensor channels or to view them in a rotating sequence.
