4.2 Connecting Test Leads

The UT620C+ uses a 4-wire (Kelvin) measurement method for high accuracy. Connect the test leads as follows:

  • Connect the two current leads (typically red and black, thicker cables) to the 'I+' and 'I-' terminals on the device and to the test object.
  • Connect the two potential leads (typically red and black, thinner cables) to the 'V+' and 'V-' terminals on the device and to the test object, as close as possible to the current lead connection points.
  • Ensure all connections are secure to prevent measurement errors.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On/Off

  • To power on, press and hold the Power button until the display illuminates.
  • To power off, press and hold the Power button until the display turns off. The device also features an Auto Power Off (APO) function to conserve battery.

5.2 Basic Resistance Measurement

After connecting the test leads to the object under test:

  1. Power on the device.
  2. Ensure the measurement mode is set to resistance (Ω). The device typically defaults to auto-ranging.
  3. The resistance value will be displayed on the LCD.
  4. For stable readings, allow a few seconds for the measurement to settle.

5.3 Zero Calibration

To ensure accuracy, especially for very low resistance measurements, perform a zero calibration:

  1. Short the test leads together (connect all four leads to each other).
  2. Press the 校零 (Zero) button. The display should show a value close to zero.
  3. Release the short circuit before taking measurements.

5.4 Data Storage and Recall

  • Saving Data: During a measurement, press the 存储 (Save) button to store the current reading.
  • Recalling Data: Press the 读取 (Read) button to enter data recall mode. Use the navigation buttons to browse through stored measurements.
  • Deleting Data: In data recall mode, select the data to delete and press the 删除 (Delete) button.

5.5 USB Communication

The UT620C+ supports USB communication for transferring stored data to a computer for further analysis. Connect the device to your computer using a standard USB cable. Refer to the accompanying software manual (if provided) for detailed instructions on data transfer and analysis.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

  • Wipe the device casing with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Ensure no moisture enters the device or its ports.

6.2 Battery Charging

When the battery indicator shows low charge, connect the device to a suitable USB power source using the provided cable. The charging indicator will show the charging status.

6.3 Storage

Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for extended periods, remove the battery to prevent leakage.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Device does not power on: Check battery charge level. Ensure battery is correctly installed.
  • Inaccurate readings: Perform zero calibration. Check test lead connections for looseness or damage. Ensure the 4-wire connection is correctly applied.
  • Display shows 'OL' or 'OVER': The measured resistance is out of the device's range.
  • USB communication failure: Ensure the USB cable is properly connected. Check if the correct drivers are installed on the computer (if required).
