4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
Both thermometers require batteries for operation. Please refer to the specific battery compartment for each model.
- ET005: Open the battery cover located at the bottom of the handle. Insert the required batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Close the cover securely.
- AET-F372: The battery compartment is typically located at the end opposite the measurement tip. Gently slide or twist the cover to open, insert the battery, and close securely.
4.2 Unit Selection (ET005 Only)

- With the device off, press and hold the 'Switch/Measure' button for approximately 3-5 seconds until the unit changes on the display.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Using the Berrcom ET005 Forehead and Ear Thermometer
Ensure the thermometer is clean before use.

Forehead Mode:
- Ensure the probe cover is attached.
- Press the 'Switch/Measure' button to turn on the thermometer.
- Gently place the thermometer probe against the center of the forehead.
- Press and hold the 'Switch/Measure' button. Move the thermometer slowly across the forehead towards the temple. Release the button when you hear a beep.
- The temperature reading will be displayed.
Ear Mode:
- Remove the magnetic probe cover to expose the ear probe.
- Press the 'Switch/Measure' button to turn on the thermometer.
- Gently insert the ear probe into the ear canal. For children under 1 year, gently pull the ear straight back. For children over 1 year and adults, gently pull the ear up and back.
- Press and release the 'Switch/Measure' button. A beep will sound, and the temperature will be displayed.
Fever Alarm:
The ET005 features a fever alarm. If the measured temperature exceeds a normal range, the backlight of the screen will change color (e.g., orange for low fever, red for high fever) and a short beep will sound to indicate a potential fever.
5.2 Using the Berrcom AET-F372 Digital Thermometer
Ensure the thermometer tip is clean before use.

- Press the power button to turn on the thermometer. The last measured temperature will briefly display, followed by 'Lo' or the current ambient temperature.
- Place the thermometer tip according to the desired measurement method:
- Oral: Place the tip under the tongue, close to the heat pocket. Keep mouth closed.
- Rectal: Apply a water-soluble lubricant to the tip. Gently insert the tip no more than 0.5 inches into the rectum.
- Armpit (Axillary): Place the tip in the center of the armpit and press the arm firmly against the body.
- Hold the thermometer in place until you hear a beep or the reading stabilizes (approximately 15 seconds). The AET-F372 features a vibration alert when the measurement is complete.
- Read the temperature displayed on the screen.
- Press the power button to turn off the thermometer, or it will automatically shut off after approximately 30 seconds to save battery.

- ET005: Wipe the probe and thermometer body with an alcohol swab or a cloth dampened with 70% isopropyl alcohol. Do not immerse the device in water.
