Comprehensive guide for setup, operation, and maintenance of your LICHI weather station.

Product Overview

The LICHI Wireless Indoor Outdoor Weather Station (Model LC808) provides accurate measurements of indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity. It also features a 24-hour weather forecast, time, date, and an alarm function. The system includes a main display unit and one wireless remote sensor, supporting up to three sensors for comprehensive monitoring.

Key Features:

  • Accurate Monitoring: Measures indoor temperature (14°F to 122°F) and humidity (1%-99%), and outdoor temperature (-40°F to 158°F) and humidity (1%-99%).
  • Weather Forecast: Provides a 12-24 hour weather forecast (sunny, rain, etc.) based on barometric pressure changes.
  • Wireless Range: Remote sensor transmits data up to 330 feet (100 meters) in open areas.

Setup Guide

1. Powering the Devices

  1. Remote Sensor:
    • Open the battery compartment on the back of the remote sensor.
    • Insert 2 x AA batteries (not included), observing polarity (+/-).
    • Close the battery compartment.
  2. Main Display Unit:
    • Open the battery compartment on the back of the main unit.
    • Insert 3 x AAA batteries (not included), observing polarity (+/-).
    • Alternatively, connect the provided USB cable to the main unit and plug the other end into a USB power adapter (not included) or a USB port. Using USB power enables continuous backlight.
    • Close the battery compartment.

2. Pairing the Sensor

The main unit and remote sensor should automatically pair once both are powered on. If pairing does not occur within a few minutes, or if you are adding additional sensors:

  • Press and hold the "SET/CH" button on the main unit for 3 seconds to initiate a search for remote sensors.
  • On the remote sensor, locate the channel selector button inside the battery compartment (if applicable) and ensure it is set to a unique channel (1, 2, or 3). Press the "RESET" button on the sensor if needed.
  • The main unit will display the outdoor temperature and humidity once connected.

3. Placement

  • Main Display Unit: Place indoors on a flat surface using the integrated stand or mount on a wall using the hanging hole. Avoid direct sunlight or heat sources.
  • Remote Sensor: Place outdoors in a shaded, dry location to ensure accurate readings and prolong battery life. While the sensor has an IPX4 waterproof rating, it is recommended to protect it from direct rain and prolonged sun exposure.

Warning about the IPX4 waterproof rating of the sensor, recommending placement in shade to protect from long-term rain and sun for better accuracy and performance.

Operating Instructions

1. Setting Time and Date

  1. Press the "TIME" button to enter time setting mode.
  2. Use the "MEM" (Up) and "C/F" (Down) buttons to adjust values.
  3. Press "TIME" again to confirm and move to the next setting (Year, Month, Day, Hour, Minute).

2. Temperature Unit Selection

Press the "C/F" button to switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F).

3. Backlight Control

  • When powered by batteries, the backlight will illuminate for 10 seconds after pressing any button.
  • When powered by USB, the backlight remains continuously on. Press the light button on top of the unit to cycle through High, Low, and Off brightness settings.

4. Alarm and Snooze Function

  • Press the "ALARM" button to view or set the alarm time.
  • Press and hold "ALARM" to enter alarm setting mode. Use "MEM" and "C/F" to adjust, and "ALARM" to confirm.
  • When the alarm sounds, press the "SNOOZE" button (top of the unit) for an additional 5 minutes of sleep.

5. Min/Max Records

Press the "MEM" button to view the maximum and minimum temperature and humidity records. Press again to cycle through the records.

6. Weather Forecast Icons

The display shows various icons representing the predicted weather for the next 12-24 hours, including Sunny, Partly Cloudy, Overcast, Rain, Thunderstorm, Snowfall, and Heavy Snowfall.

Maintenance

  • Clean the display unit and sensor with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display.
  • If the unit will not be used for an extended period, remove all batteries to prevent leakage.
  • Ensure the remote sensor is kept away from direct moisture and extreme temperatures for optimal performance and longevity.

Troubleshooting

ProblemSolution
No display on main unit.Check battery installation and polarity. Ensure USB cable is securely connected if using USB power. Replace batteries if low.
Outdoor temperature/humidity not displayed.Ensure remote sensor batteries are installed correctly and not depleted. Press and hold "SET/CH" on the main unit to re-initiate sensor search. Reduce distance between main unit and sensor, or remove obstructions. Check the channel setting on the remote sensor.
Inaccurate readings.Ensure both units are placed away from direct sunlight, heat sources, or strong drafts. Allow units to stabilize for 15-30 minutes after initial setup or relocation.
Backlight not staying on.When operating on batteries, the backlight is designed to turn off after 10 seconds to conserve power. For continuous backlight, use the USB power cable.
