2. Setup Instructions
2.1 Powering the Main Unit
The main unit can be powered by either a DC power adapter or 2 AA batteries (not included).
- DC Power Adapter: For a constantly lit display with adjustable brightness (5 levels), plug the included DC adapter into the unit and a power outlet. The screen will remain on, except during the RCC signal search.
- Battery Power: For battery-only operation, insert 2 AA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment. The screen backlight will turn on for 15 seconds when the top button is touched, then turn off to conserve power.

2.2 Remote Sensor Setup
The remote sensor transmits outdoor temperature and humidity data to the main unit.
- Open the battery cover of the remote sensor and insert 2 AA batteries (not included).
- Select a channel (1, 2, or 3) on the remote sensor using the small switch inside the battery compartment. Ensure this matches the channel selected on the main unit.
- Press the TX button on the sensor to transmit the signal.
- Place the remote sensor in a shaded, outdoor location to ensure accurate readings, away from direct sunlight and moisture. The wireless transmission range is up to 328 feet in open areas.

2.3 Initial Signal Search and Time Synchronization
After powering on, the main unit will automatically enter a 3-minute RF signal search mode to connect with the remote sensor. The remote sensor icon will flash during this time. Once connected, the icon will stay lit.
The station will then automatically begin searching for the WWVB atomic clock signal to set the time and date. During this reception process, the backlight will dim for approximately 7 minutes, and most buttons will be disabled. The atomic clock signal icon will flash while searching. Once successfully received, it changes to a steady signal icon.
Note: The default time zone is Pacific Time (-8). If you need to change the time zone, press and hold the [UP] button to exit the WWVB search mode, then refer to the manual to reset the time zone and time manually.

2.4 Manual Time and Settings Adjustment
To manually adjust settings, press and hold the [MODE/SET] key for 2 seconds to enter the time and settings mode. The first setting item will blink.
- Use [UP] or [DOWN] buttons to change values. Press [UP] once to increase by 1; hold for 2+ seconds to fast increase. The same applies to [DOWN] for decreasing values.
- Press [MODE/SET] to confirm a selection and move to the next setting.
- Settings include: Key Tone & Beep (ON/OFF), Temperature Unit (°C/°F), Pressure Unit (hPa/mb / inHg), RCC (Radio Controlled Clock) (ON/OFF), DST (Daylight Saving Time) (ON/OFF), Time Zone (choose from -4 to -10), Time Format (12HR/24HR), Hour, Minute, Year, Month, Date, Weekday Language (English, French, or Spanish), Pressure Calibration, and Initial Weather Setting.
Note: After 20 seconds of no button presses, settings are saved automatically, and the unit returns to standard mode. Alternatively, quickly press the [SNOOZE/LIGHT] button twice within 0.5 seconds to save immediately and return to standard mode.
2.5 Alarm Setup
The weather station features two independent alarms (AL1 and AL2).
- Press and hold the [ALARM] key for 2 seconds to enter alarm setup.
- Configure settings in the following order: AL1 Hour → AL1 Minute → AL1 Repeat (e.g., Mon-Fri, Sat-Sun, Everyday) → AL1 Snooze Time → AL2 Hour → AL2 Minute → AL2 Repeat → AL2 Snooze Time.
- Use [UP] or [DOWN] to adjust values and [MODE/SET] to confirm and move to the next setting.
3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Display Overview
The 7.5-inch HD VA display is partitioned to show various data points clearly:
- Time & Date: Current time, day of the week, and date.
- Indoor Sensor: Indoor temperature and humidity, comfort indicator, and mold risk.
- Remote Sensor: Outdoor temperature and humidity from the remote sensor, with alerts.
- Weather Forecast: Graphical representation of the predicted weather for the next 12 hours.
- Barometric Pressure: Current pressure and historical trends.
- Astronomical Data: Moon phase, sunrise, and sunset times.
Figure 4: Expansive 7.5" HD VA Screen with adjustable brightness.
3.2 Weather Forecast
The weather station predicts weather conditions for the next 12 hours by analyzing barometric pressure trends. After a 7-10 day calibration period, it provides localized microclimate predictions.

4. Maintenance
- Clean the display and unit with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Ensure the remote sensor is placed in a location protected from direct heavy rain and extreme temperatures to prolong its lifespan and accuracy.
- Replace batteries in both the main unit (if used) and remote sensor when the low battery indicator appears on the display.
- If the unit will not be used for an extended period, remove all batteries.
5. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your Zivron EM3378UC Weather Station.
5.1 Screen Backlight Turns Off
Issue: The screen backlight turns off, and I want it always on.
Solution: This depends on how the station is powered. If using only batteries, the backlight is designed to turn on for only 15 seconds when you press the top button to save power. It cannot stay always on in battery mode. For a permanently lit display, please plug in the power adapter. The screen will then stay on, and you can adjust its brightness through 5 levels. For best results, it is recommended to use both the power adapter and batteries.
5.2 Screen Dim and Buttons Unresponsive
Issue: My screen went dim, and the buttons aren't working.
Solution: Your station may be automatically searching for the atomic clock signal (RCC) to sync the time. It will try up to five times between 1:00 AM and 5:00 AM (at each full hour). Each attempt lasts for 7 minutes. If a signal is successfully received during one of these attempts, it will not try again later that same night. The screen will dim, and most buttons will be disabled during any search. You'll see the atomic clock signal icon flashing while searching. When successful, it changes to a steady signal. To immediately exit a search, press and hold the [UP] button for 2 seconds. To manually search a WWVB signal, you can also press and hold the [UP] button for 2 seconds.
5.3 Outdoor Temperature/Humidity Reading Blinking
Issue: My outdoor temperature/humidity reading is blinking.
Solution: In the cycle mode, the screen will display readings from CH 1 to CH 3 in turn. If there is only 1 sensor, the screen will keep flickering. Press the [CH] button to cancel cycle mode and return to CH 1.
5.4 Screen Not Staying On with Power Adapter
Issue: I have the power adapter plugged in, but my screen still won't stay on.
Solution: The [Night Mode] is probably turned on. Press and hold the top [SNOOZE/LIGHT] button for 3 seconds until the setting appears. Turn it off to keep the backlight on continuously.
