4. Setup

4.1 Attaching the Battery

This electric pruning shears is compatible with Makita 18V batteries (e.g., BL1860, BL1850, BL1840, BL1830, BL1815). Ensure the battery is fully charged before use.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On and Activation

1. Insert a charged Makita 18V battery into the tool.
2. Press the power switch (usually located near the battery) once. The tool will beep once, and the LCD display will illuminate.
3. To activate the blades, quickly pull the trigger twice. The blades will open, indicating the tool is ready for use.

5.2 Adjusting Cutting Diameter

The pruning shears offer two adjustable cutting diameter modes:

• Mode 1: Maximum opening of 0.8 inch (20mm), suitable for fine pruning of tree branches.

5.4 Powering Off

When you are finished using the pruning shears:

1. Press and hold the trigger for 5 seconds. You will hear a series of beeps (beep ~ beep beep beep), and the blades will automatically close.
2. Remove the battery pack from the tool for storage.
