1. Important Safeguards

3. Setup

3.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain packaging materials for future transport or storage. Ensure all listed accessories are present.

3.2 Initial Cleaning

Before first use, wash the water tank, portafilter, filters, drip tray, and milk frothing pitcher with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.

3.3 Water Tank Installation

  1. Lift the water tank from the back of the machine.
  2. Fill the tank with fresh, cold water up to the MAX line.
  3. Place the water tank back into its position, ensuring it is seated correctly.

3.4 Bean Hopper Installation

  1. Place the bean hopper onto the top of the machine, aligning it with the grinder opening.
  2. Twist the hopper clockwise until it locks into place.
  3. Fill the hopper with whole coffee beans. The hopper has a capacity of 3.88 oz.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Grinding Coffee Beans

The integrated conical burr grinder offers 45 precise grind settings, allowing you to customize the fineness for optimal espresso extraction.

  1. Ensure the bean hopper is filled with fresh, whole coffee beans.
  2. Adjust the grind setting dial to your desired fineness. For espresso, settings between 8-12 are generally recommended. Finer grinds (lower numbers) result in stronger espresso, while coarser grinds (higher numbers) produce a lighter brew.
  3. Insert the portafilter into the grinding cradle.
  4. Press the 'GRIND TIME' button once for a single dose or twice for a double dose. The machine will automatically grind the beans into the portafilter.
  5. The built-in anti-static design minimizes mess during grinding.

4.2 Brewing Espresso

The machine features a 20-bar pump to ensure optimal pressure for rich espresso extraction.

  1. After grinding, tamp the coffee grounds firmly and evenly in the portafilter.
  2. Attach the portafilter to the group head by inserting it and twisting firmly to the right until secure.
  3. Place one or two espresso cups on the drip tray beneath the portafilter spouts.
  4. Press the 'SINGLE CUP' button for a single shot or 'DOUBLE CUP' for a double shot. The machine will begin brewing.
  5. The machine offers three customizable brewing temperatures. After preheating is complete, press and hold the 'STEAM' button for 5 seconds to cycle through temperature options (194°F, 197°F, 204°F).
  6. Once brewing is complete, remove the portafilter and discard the used coffee grounds.

4.3 Using the Steam Wand

The professional steam wand allows you to create creamy milk foam for lattes and cappuccinos, or dispense hot water.

  1. Fill a milk frothing pitcher with cold milk (for frothing) or a cup with water (for hot water).
  2. Position the steam wand into the milk or water.
  3. Press the 'STEAM' button. The indicator light will change from solid to flashing, indicating the machine is heating up for steam.
  4. Once the steam is ready, turn the steam control knob to release steam.
  5. After use, turn off the steam and wipe the wand clean immediately with a damp cloth.

4.4 Cup Warming Function

The top surface of the machine functions as a cup warmer. Place your espresso cups on this surface before brewing to preheat them. This helps maintain the temperature and flavor of your espresso from the first sip.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your espresso machine.

5.1 Daily Cleaning

  • Portafilter and Filters: After each use, remove the portafilter, discard coffee grounds, and rinse the portafilter and filter baskets under warm water.
  • Steam Wand: Immediately after frothing milk, wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying. Purge a small amount of steam to clear any internal blockages.
  • Drip Tray: Empty and rinse the drip tray daily. The removable design allows for quick rinsing.
  • Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.

5.2 Removable Parts for Easy Cleaning

The water tank and drip tray are easily removable for thorough cleaning. The included cleaning brush can be used to remove coffee grounds from the grind chute and internal passages.

5.3 Descaling

Over time, mineral deposits can build up in the machine, affecting performance. Descale your machine regularly (e.g., every 2-3 months, depending on water hardness) using a commercial descaling solution specifically designed for espresso machines. Follow the descaling solution manufacturer's instructions carefully.

6. Troubleshooting
