Safety Information

Your safety is paramount. Observe all warnings and precautions to prevent injury or damage.

  • Electrical Safety: The unit features a fully isolated system, ensuring complete separation of water and electrical components. However, always ensure proper grounding and electrical connections are made by a qualified electrician in accordance with local codes.
  • Water & Plumbing: Ensure all plumbing connections are secure and leak-free. Proper water flow is critical for efficient operation and to prevent damage to the unit.
  • Placement: Install the heat pump in a well-ventilated area, away from flammable materials, and on a stable, level surface.
  • Children and Pets: Keep children and pets away from the unit during operation.
  • Defrost Cycle: During heating, frost may form on the unit. This is normal. The unit will automatically initiate a defrost cycle. Do not power off the unit during this process.

Setup and Installation

The WARMBLU H5 heat pump is designed for straightforward installation. The entire system can typically be assembled and connected within 45 minutes.

1. Site Selection

  • Choose a location with adequate airflow around the unit.
  • Ensure the surface is level and capable of supporting the unit's weight (approximately 73.8 pounds).
  • Position the unit close enough to the pool and filtration system for easy plumbing connections.

2. Plumbing Connections

Connect the heat pump into your existing pool filtration system. The heat pump should be installed after the filter and before any chemical feeders.

  1. Connect the outlet of your pool filter to the inlet of the heat pump.
  2. Connect the outlet of the heat pump to the return line of your pool.
  3. Use the provided hose adapters and clamps to secure connections. Ensure all connections are tight to prevent leaks.
  4. Consider installing 3-way valves on the lines to and from the heater to allow for isolation of the heat pump for maintenance or to bypass it if not needed.

3. Electrical Connection

The WARMBLU H5 operates on 110V. Ensure your electrical circuit meets the requirements for the unit (e.g., a dedicated 15 or 20 amp GFCI circuit is recommended). Consult a qualified electrician for proper wiring.

  • Connect the heat pump's power cable to a suitable electrical outlet.
  • Ensure the power supply is off before making any electrical connections.

Operating Instructions

Starting Up

  1. Turn on the water pump to ensure water is circulating through the heat pump system. Verify there are no airlocks or leaks.
  2. Power on the WARMBLU H5 unit.
  3. Set your desired water temperature using the control panel or the mobile application.

Control Options

The WARMBLU H5 offers two convenient ways to control your pool's temperature:

  • Touch Panel: Use the sleek, modern touch panel directly on the unit for direct control.
  • Mobile App: Download the intuitive mobile application (e.g., Smart Life App) to control and monitor your heat pump remotely via WiFi. Follow the app's instructions for pairing your device.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your heat pump.

  • Keep Area Clear: Ensure the area around the heat pump is free from debris, leaves, and other obstructions to maintain proper airflow.
  • Coil Cleaning: Periodically inspect and gently clean the evaporator coils to remove any accumulated dirt or dust.
  • Water Flow: Regularly check the water pressure gauge (if installed) to ensure water flow is within the recommended range for efficient heat transfer. Adjust valves as necessary.
  • Winterization: In colder climates, follow proper winterization procedures to protect the unit from freezing temperatures. Consult a pool professional if unsure.
  • Thermal Cover: Using a pool thermal cover after swimming significantly enhances heating efficiency and reduces energy costs.

Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter. For more complex problems, contact customer support.

  • Unit Not Heating:
    • Check if the power supply is connected and turned on.
    • Ensure the water pump is running and there is adequate water flow through the heat pump.
    • Verify the desired temperature setting is higher than the current pool temperature.
    • Check for any error codes on the display panel.
  • Low Heating Efficiency:
    • Ensure the pool thermal cover is used when the pool is not in use.
    • Check for obstructions around the unit that might restrict airflow.
    • Verify the water flow rate is optimal (refer to specifications for recommended GPM).
    • Consider ambient air temperature; heat pumps are less efficient in very cold conditions.
  • Unit is Noisy:
    • Ensure the unit is placed on a stable, level surface.
    • Check for any loose components or debris inside the fan area.
    • A slight hum is normal; if the noise is excessive, contact support.
  • Frost on Unit:
    • This is normal during heating operation, especially in cooler temperatures. The unit will automatically defrost. Do not power off.
