4.2 Installing/Removing the Battery

  1. To install: Align the battery pack with the base of the drill handle and slide it in until it locks securely.
  2. To remove: Press the battery release button (usually located on the side of the battery) and slide the battery pack out.

4.3 Installing/Removing Drill Bits or Screwdriver Bits

  1. Ensure the drill is switched off and the battery is removed for safety.
  2. Rotate the chuck counter-clockwise to open the jaws.
  3. Insert the desired drill bit or screwdriver bit into the chuck, ensuring it is centered.
  4. Rotate the chuck clockwise to tighten the jaws firmly around the bit. Hand-tighten for best grip.
  5. To remove: Rotate the chuck counter-clockwise to loosen and pull the bit out.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Selecting Operating Mode

The drill offers three modes: Screwdriving, Drilling, and Impact Drilling. Rotate the mode selector ring (located behind the chuck) to choose the appropriate mode for your task.

  • Screwdriving Mode: For driving and removing screws. Adjust the torque setting for optimal results.
  • Drilling Mode: For drilling holes in wood, metal, and plastics without impact.
  • Impact Drilling Mode: For drilling holes in masonry and concrete.

5.2 Adjusting Torque Settings

In screwdriving mode, rotate the torque adjustment ring (located behind the mode selector) to select one of the 19 torque settings. Higher numbers indicate higher torque. Use lower settings for smaller screws and softer materials, and higher settings for larger screws and harder materials.

5.3 Selecting Speed

The drill has a 2-speed gearbox. Use the speed selector switch (usually on top of the drill) to choose between:

  • Speed 1 (0-500 rpm): For high torque applications like driving large screws or drilling large holes.
  • Speed 2 (0-2200 rpm): For high-speed drilling in smaller diameters or softer materials.

5.4 Forward/Reverse Rotation

The forward/reverse switch (located above the trigger) controls the direction of rotation. Push it left for forward (clockwise) rotation and right for reverse (counter-clockwise) rotation. Position it in the center to lock the trigger and prevent accidental startup.

5.5 Operating the Drill

  1. Ensure the correct bit, mode, speed, and torque settings are selected.
  2. Hold the drill firmly with both hands, if possible, especially for impact drilling or high torque tasks.
  3. Position the bit on the workpiece.
  4. Press the trigger to start the drill. The LED work light will activate.
  5. Apply steady, even pressure. Do not force the tool.
  6. Release the trigger to stop the drill.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your drill.

  • Cleaning: Keep the ventilation openings clear and free of dust. Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the tool casing. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Chuck Maintenance: Periodically clean the chuck jaws to ensure proper gripping of bits.
  • Battery Care: Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Do not store fully discharged batteries for extended periods.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the drill, batteries, and charger in their original case or a safe, dry place out of reach of children.
