5. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps for safe and proper setup of your water heater.

Choose a Location: Select a well-ventilated outdoor area, away from any enclosed spaces, flammable materials, or obstructions. Ensure the unit is stable and upright. The integrated carry handle can also be used for hanging the unit securely.
Connect Water Inlet: Connect your cold water supply (e.g., garden hose) to the water inlet port on the bottom right of the unit. Use the provided GHT adapter if necessary. Ensure a tight, leak-free connection.
Connect Water Outlet: Connect the shower hose and shower head to the hot water outlet port on the bottom left of the unit. Ensure a tight, leak-free connection.
Connect Gas Supply: Attach the provided gas regulator to a standard propane tank. Then, connect the other end of the regulator hose to the gas inlet port on the bottom center of the water heater. Tighten all connections securely. Perform a leak test using soapy water on all gas connections. Bubbles indicate a leak.
Install Batteries: Open the battery compartment (usually located on the bottom or side) and insert two D-cell batteries (not included) according to the polarity markings. These batteries power the ignition and LED display.

6. Operating Instructions

Once the unit is properly set up, follow these steps to operate your water heater.

Open Gas Supply: Slowly open the valve on your propane tank.
Open Water Supply: Turn on the cold water supply to the water heater. Ensure water flows through the unit before attempting to ignite the gas. The minimum water pressure required for activation is 3.63 psi.
Adjust Gas Knob: Turn the 'GAS' knob on the front panel to your desired setting. 'MIN' provides lower heat, 'MAX' provides higher heat.
Adjust Water Knob: Turn the 'WATER' knob to control the water flow. 'MIN' provides lower flow (higher temperature rise), 'MAX' provides higher flow (lower temperature rise).
