3. Setup and Installation

This battery is designed for easy installation as a direct replacement for 6*6V lead-acid batteries in 36V golf cart systems.

3.1 Unpacking and Inspection

  1. Carefully remove the battery from its packaging.
  2. Inspect the battery for any visible damage. If damage is found, do not proceed with installation and contact customer support.
  3. Verify that all included accessories (if any) are present.

3.2 Installation Steps

  1. Preparation: Ensure the golf cart's power system is completely off and disconnected. Remove the existing lead-acid batteries.
  2. Placement: Position the DC HOUSE lithium battery in the battery compartment. The compact size and lighter weight facilitate easier handling.
  3. Securing: Utilize the reserved fixed holes on the battery case to secure it firmly in place, preventing movement during operation.
  4. Wiring: Connect the battery terminals to the golf cart's electrical system. Ensure correct polarity (positive to positive, negative to negative). This 36V battery replaces a series of 6V batteries, simplifying wiring.
  5. Power Switch: Ensure the integrated power on/off switch on the battery is in the 'OFF' position during installation to prevent accidental power surges.
  6. Initial Charge: After installation, connect the appropriate LiFePO4 charger to the battery for an initial full charge.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Powering On/Off

  • To power on the battery, press the integrated power switch to the 'ON' position.
  • To power off the battery, press the integrated power switch to the 'OFF' position. This is recommended for long periods of inactivity to prevent over-discharge and extend battery life.

4.2 Temperature Performance

The battery is designed for cold-resistant operation:

  • Discharge Temperature Range: -22°F to 131°F (-30°C to 55°C).
  • Charging Temperature Range: -4°F to 131°F (-20°C to 55°C).
  • Smart Temperature Protection: Charging automatically pauses at -4°F (-20°C) and resumes at 5°F (-15°C). Discharging halts at -22°F (-30°C) and resumes at -4°F (-20°C) to protect the battery.

6. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your battery.

6.1 Common Issues and Solutions

  • Battery Not Charging:
    • Ensure the charger is correctly connected and functioning.
    • Verify the charging temperature is within the acceptable range (-4°F to 131°F). The BMS will pause charging outside this range.
    • Check the power switch on the battery is in the 'ON' position.
  • Battery Not Discharging/Low Power:
    • Check battery charge level via LCD or app.
    • Verify the discharging temperature is within the acceptable range (-22°F to 131°F). The BMS will halt discharge outside this range.
    • Ensure all connections are secure and free of corrosion.
    • Check for any fault indicators on the LCD or app.
  • Bluetooth Monitoring Issues:
    • Ensure only one device (either the LCD monitor or the mobile app) is attempting to connect at a time.
    • Restart the mobile app or the LCD monitor.
    • Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device.

6.2 BMS Protection Triggers

The integrated 200A BMS protects the battery from various conditions. If the battery stops functioning, check for the following:

  • Low/High Temperature Protection: Battery operation will cease if temperatures exceed safe limits.
  • Under/Over Voltage Protection: Prevents damage from extreme voltage levels.
  • Over-Current Protection: Activates if the discharge current exceeds 200A continuous, 250A (30s), or 700A (1s).
  • Short-Circuit Protection: Immediately cuts off power in case of a short circuit.

If the issue persists after troubleshooting, contact DC HOUSE customer support.
