1. Introduction
This manual provides instructions for the TIMEX TW2Y723004A Mechanical Automatic Men's Watch. This timepiece features a Swiss-made Landeron 24 GMT automatic movement, visible through an exhibition caseback, and includes a fourth hand for tracking a second time zone. The watch is designed for durability with a stainless steel case and is water-resistant up to 100 meters.
Key features include:
- 40mm black dial with a stainless steel case.
- Mechanical Automatic movement for accurate timekeeping.
- Silver stainless steel band with a 20mm strap width.
- Water resistance up to 100 meters.

2. Setup
2.1 Initial Winding
If the watch has stopped, it requires an initial manual wind. Rotate the crown clockwise approximately 20-30 times while it is in the normal operating position (position 1, pushed in). This will provide sufficient power reserve to start the movement.
2.2 Setting the Time
- Pull the crown out to position 3 (farthest out).
- Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute hands to the correct time.
- Push the crown back into position 1 to start the watch.
2.3 Setting the GMT (Second Time Zone)
The watch features a GMT function, indicated by a fourth hand. To set the GMT hand:
- Pull the crown out to position 2 (middle position).
- Rotate the crown to adjust the GMT hand to the desired second time zone. The GMT hand typically operates on a 24-hour scale.
- Once set, push the crown back into position 1.

3. Operating the Watch
3.1 Automatic Movement
This watch is powered by an automatic mechanical movement. It winds itself through the natural motion of your wrist. When worn daily, it should maintain its power reserve. If the watch is not worn for an extended period, it may stop and require manual winding as described in Section 2.1.
3.2 GMT Function
The GMT hand allows you to track a second time zone simultaneously. The main hour hand displays your local time, while the GMT hand, typically read against a 24-hour scale on the dial or bezel, shows the time in another chosen location.

3.3 Water Resistance
The watch is water-resistant up to 100 meters (10 ATM). This rating makes it suitable for swimming and snorkeling, but it is not recommended for scuba diving. Ensure the crown is fully pushed in before any contact with water. Avoid operating the crown while the watch is wet or submerged.
4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning
To clean your watch, wipe it gently with a soft, dry cloth. For stainless steel components, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by a dry cloth. Avoid using chemical cleaners, solvents, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the watch's finish and seals.
4.2 Storage
When not wearing the watch, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and strong magnetic fields. Magnetic fields can affect the accuracy of mechanical movements.
4.3 Professional Service
Mechanical watches benefit from periodic professional servicing, typically every 3-5 years, to ensure optimal performance and longevity. This service includes cleaning, lubrication, and adjustment of the movement, as well as checking and replacing seals to maintain water resistance.

5. Troubleshooting
5.1 Watch Not Running
- Insufficient Power Reserve: If the watch has not been worn or manually wound for a period, it may stop. Manually wind the watch (Section 2.1) and wear it for several hours to build up the power reserve.
- Crown Position: Ensure the crown is fully pushed in (position 1). If it is pulled out, the watch will not run.
5.2 Inaccurate Timekeeping
- Magnetic Fields: Exposure to strong magnetic fields (e.g., from speakers, refrigerators, or certain electronic devices) can affect the watch's accuracy. If suspected, consult a professional watchmaker for demagnetization.
- Service Interval: If the watch is consistently inaccurate despite regular wear, it may require professional servicing.
5.3 Condensation Under Crystal
If condensation appears under the watch crystal, it indicates a breach in the water resistance. This should be addressed immediately by a professional watchmaker to prevent damage to the movement.
