6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Making Espresso
- Prepare the Machine: Ensure the water tank is filled and the machine is preheated to 198°F.
- Grind Coffee: Use fresh, finely ground coffee. The grind size is crucial for proper extraction. A grind that is too coarse or too fine will affect pressure and taste.
- Dose and Tamp: Place the desired filter basket (single or double shot) into the 58mm portafilter. Use the dosing ring to add 13-14g for a single shot or 19-20g for a double shot of ground coffee. Tamp the coffee evenly and firmly with the provided tamper.
- Attach Portafilter: Securely attach the portafilter to the group head by twisting it firmly to the right.
- Brew Espresso: Place your espresso cup(s) under the portafilter spouts. Press the brew button. Monitor the pressure gauge; optimal pressure is indicated in the green zone. The temperature display will show the brewing temperature.
- Stop Brewing: Press the brew button again to stop the flow once the desired volume of espresso is achieved.
- Remove Portafilter: Carefully remove the portafilter by twisting it to the left. Discard the used coffee grounds.

6.2 Steaming Milk
- Prepare Milk: Fill the provided 350ml milk frothing pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) up to the bottom of the spout.
- Activate Steam: Turn the steam knob to activate the steam wand. Allow a few seconds for the steam wand to purge any condensed water into an empty cup.
- Froth Milk: Immerse the tip of the steam wand just below the surface of the milk. Angle the pitcher slightly to create a vortex. Listen for a gentle hissing sound. As the milk expands and heats, lower the pitcher to keep the tip just below the surface.
- Monitor Temperature: Continue steaming until the milk reaches your desired temperature (typically 140-150°F or when the pitcher is too hot to touch comfortably).
- Turn Off Steam: Turn the steam knob to the OFF position.
- Clean Wand: Immediately wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to remove any milk residue. Briefly open the steam valve again to clear any milk from inside the wand.

7. Maintenance
7.1 Daily Cleaning

7.2 Descaling
Regular descaling is essential to maintain machine performance and extend its lifespan, especially in areas with hard water. The frequency depends on water hardness and usage.
- Prepare a descaling solution according to the descaler manufacturer's instructions.
- Fill the water tank with the descaling solution.
- Place a large container under the group head and steam wand.
- Turn on the machine and allow it to heat up.
- Run half of the solution through the group head by pressing the brew button.
- Run the remaining half of the solution through the steam wand.
- After descaling, rinse the water tank thoroughly and fill it with fresh water.
- Repeat the rinse cycle (steps 5 and 6) with fresh water to remove any descaler residue.

8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your espresso machine, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No coffee flow or very slow flow | Coffee grounds too fine, too much coffee, or tamped too hard. Machine needs descaling. | Adjust grind size, reduce coffee amount, or tamp lighter. Perform descaling. |
| Coffee flows too fast, weak espresso | Coffee grounds too coarse, too little coffee, or tamped too lightly. | Adjust grind size to be finer, increase coffee amount, or tamp more firmly. |
| No steam from wand | Steam wand clogged. Machine not heated to steam temperature. | Clean steam wand hole with a pin. Allow machine to fully heat for steam function. |
| Water leaking from machine | Water tank not seated correctly. Gasket issue. | Ensure water tank is properly installed. Contact customer support if leaking persists. |
Usage Tip: A grind that's too coarse, too little coffee grounds, or insufficient tamping of the coffee grounds before brewing can result in insufficient pressure for a satisfactory espresso. Please follow the operating instructions and the coffee brewing manual carefully.
