3. Safety Information

The Atcall 3K Cell Phone Booster is FCC Approved (FCC ID:2A34B-SFZN005). Adherence to installation guidelines is crucial for safe and effective operation.

  • Registration: This is a CONSUMER device. BEFORE USE, you MUST REGISTER this device with your wireless provider and have your provider's consent. Most wireless providers consent to the use of signal boosters. Some providers may not consent to the use of this device on their network. If you are unsure, contact your provider.
  • Antenna Installation: The outdoor directional antenna needs to be installed on the rooftop. Exercise caution during installation. Antennas MUST be installed at least 20 cm (8 inches) from any person.
  • Approved Equipment: You MUST operate this device with approved antennas and cables as specified by the manufacturer.
  • Interference: You MUST cease operating this device immediately if requested by the FCC or a licensed wireless service provider. FCC regulations limit the gain and output power of all consumer boosters to low values to avoid interference to cell towers. Improper installation might trigger immediate reduction of the booster's gain and power.
  • E911 Information: E911 location information may not be provided or may be inaccurate for calls served by using this device.
  • Usage: This device may be operated ONLY in a fixed location for in-building use.

4. Setup

4.1. Check Outdoor Signal Strength

Before installing the outdoor antenna, it is crucial to verify your current outdoor signal strength. The booster requires at least -110dBm of existing signal to function effectively.

For iPhone:

  1. Dial *3001#12345#* then press the call button.
  2. Choose All Metrics, click Serving Cell Info.
  3. Check Band Info.

For Android Phone:

  1. Download "Network Cell Info Lite" app.
  2. Choose "GAUGE".
  3. Check "BAND".

4.3. Place Booster Unit

Position the 3K Booster unit indoors. It is critical to maintain a minimum separation of 30 feet vertically or 20 feet horizontally between the outdoor and indoor antennas to prevent signal oscillation. The booster can be placed on a desktop or mounted to a wall using the Booster Wall Mount Bracket.

6. Maintenance

  • Keep the booster unit and antennas clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Regularly check all cable connections to ensure they are secure and free from damage.
  • Avoid placing the booster in areas with extreme temperatures, high humidity, or direct sunlight.
  • Ensure proper ventilation around the booster unit to prevent overheating.

7. Troubleshooting

If you experience issues with your Atcall 3K Cell Phone Booster, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • No Signal/Weak Signal:
    • Verify the outdoor antenna is correctly aimed at the nearest cell tower.
    • Ensure adequate separation between the outdoor and indoor antennas (minimum 30ft vertical or 20ft horizontal).
    • Check all coaxial cable connections for tightness and ensure they are not damaged.
    • Confirm the power supply is securely connected and the booster is powered on.
    • Check the LCD monitor for any error messages or low signal readings.
  • Alarm on LCD: An "Alarm" message on the LCD indicates abnormal operation. This could be due to:
    • Signal Oscillation: The indoor antenna is receiving signal from the outdoor antenna. Increase separation distance.
    • Overload: The booster is receiving too strong an input signal. Adjust outdoor antenna direction slightly.
    • Cable Issue: Check for damaged or improperly connected cables.
  • Poor Call Quality/Slow Data:
    • Re-adjust the outdoor antenna for optimal signal strength.
    • Ensure the indoor antenna is positioned to provide the best coverage in your desired area.
    • Check for any new obstructions (e.g., trees, buildings) that might be blocking the outdoor antenna's line of sight to the cell tower.
