1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Oskkude 7-inch touch screen car stereo. This unit is designed to upgrade the audio and navigation system in Ford Ranger models from 1998 to 2006, offering features such as Wireless CarPlay, Android Auto, GPS navigation, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and support for a backup camera. 3. Installation Guide

3.1 Pre-installation Notes

• This unit is not a plug-and-play device. Wiring modifications may be required for installation. Professional installation is recommended.
• Ensure the vehicle's battery is disconnected before starting any electrical work to prevent short circuits or damage.
• Confirm compatibility with your Ford Ranger (1998-2006) before proceeding.

3.2 Wiring Diagram

3.3 General Installation Steps

1. Remove Existing Stereo: Carefully remove your vehicle's original stereo unit and trim panel.
2. Connect Wiring: Match the wiring harness from the new stereo to your vehicle's wiring. This may involve cutting and splicing wires. Ensure all connections are secure and insulated.
3. Install GPS Antenna: Mount the GPS antenna in a location with a clear view of the sky, typically on the dashboard or under the windshield.

4.2 Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto

The unit supports both wireless CarPlay for iOS devices and wireless Android Auto for Android devices, allowing seamless integration of your smartphone's functions onto the car stereo display.

1. Enable Bluetooth & Wi-Fi: Ensure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on your smartphone.
2. Pair Device: On the car stereo, navigate to the CarPlay or Android Auto application. Follow the on-screen prompts to pair your phone via Bluetooth.
3. Connect: Once paired, the system will automatically establish a Wi-Fi connection for CarPlay or Android Auto functionality.
4. Voice Control: Use voice commands (Siri for CarPlay, Google Assistant for Android Auto) to navigate, make calls, send messages, and play music.

4.3 GPS Navigation

The car stereo features a built-in GPS module and supports both online and offline navigation applications. It comes with pre-installed offline maps for North America.

• Offline Maps: Access pre-loaded North America maps without an internet connection.
• Online Maps: Connect the unit to a Wi-Fi hotspot (e.g., from your smartphone) to use online navigation apps like Google Maps, Waze, or Here WeGo.
• App Installation: Download and install additional navigation apps from the application store, similar to a smartphone.

4.4 Bluetooth Connectivity

Connect your smartphone or other Bluetooth-enabled devices to the car stereo for hands-free calling and audio streaming.

1. Enable Bluetooth: Turn on Bluetooth on both the car stereo and your device.
2. Search & Pair: On the car stereo, search for available devices and select your phone. Confirm the pairing code if prompted.
3. Functions: Once connected, you can make/receive calls, access your phonebook, and stream music wirelessly.

4.5 Steering Wheel Control (SWC)

The unit supports steering wheel control functions, allowing you to manage media and apps without taking your hands off the wheel.

1. Configuration: Access the 'Steering Learn' option in the system settings.
2. Mapping Buttons: Follow the on-screen instructions to map your vehicle's steering wheel buttons to the corresponding functions on the stereo (e.g., volume up/down, track skip, mode).

4.6 Mirror Link

Mirror Link allows you to display your smartphone's screen directly onto the car stereo, enabling you to view navigation, videos, and other content.

1. Connect Device: Connect your smartphone to the car stereo via USB or Wi-Fi, depending on your phone's capabilities.
2. Activate Mirror Link: Select the 'Mirror Link' application on the car stereo.
3. Follow Prompts: Follow any on-screen instructions on both your phone and the stereo to establish the connection.

4.7 Split Screen Function

The split-screen feature allows you to run and view two applications simultaneously on the display, such as navigation and music playback.

1. Activate Split Screen: While an application is open, swipe from the side or use the designated split-screen button (if available) to select a second application.
2. Adjust Layout: You can often adjust the size of each application window by dragging the divider.

4.8 FM/RDS Radio

The unit includes an FM/RDS radio tuner, supporting automatic and manual station searching.

• Auto Search: Use the auto-search function to scan and save available radio stations.
• Manual Tuning: Manually tune to specific frequencies.
• RDS: Radio Data System (RDS) displays station information such as song titles or program names where available.

4.9 Backup Camera

The system supports an AHD backup camera, providing a clear view of the area behind your vehicle when reversing. The display automatically switches to the camera feed when the vehicle is put into reverse gear.

4.9.1 Backup Camera Format and Resolution Setup

To ensure optimal performance, configure the backup camera settings as follows:

1. Tap the settings icon to open the settings menu.
2. Select 'Factory Settings', then enter the password 8888.
3. Navigate to 'Protocol Parameter Settings'.
4. Select 'Reverse Video Resolution Settings'.
5. Choose the correct setting based on your camera type. For the included camera, keep the default AHD/25. For OEM cameras, choose NTSC/PAL as appropriate.

• Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the screen and unit. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
