- Winter Storage: To prevent permanent damage from freezing temperatures, drain all water from inside the timer, remove the batteries, and store the device indoors during winter.
- Power Unit Replacement: When replacing the power unit, ensure the water timer is completely dry.
Troubleshooting
1. Water Leaks
If you experience water leaks during installation or operation, check the following:
- Ensure thread sealing tape (Teflon tape) is properly installed on the faucet threads.
- Verify that the rubber washer and filter are correctly seated in the water timer's inlet.
- Confirm that the water inlet is securely tightened to the faucet.
This video provides a quick guide to ensure a leak-free installation.
2. Device Offline
If your device appears offline in the app, consider the following solutions:
- Check Distance: Move the water timer closer to the Wi-Fi Hub (WG03). A weak signal due to excessive distance is a common cause of disconnection.
- Re-pair Devices: Remove both the Hub and the timer from the app, then go through the setup process again to re-pair them.
- Reset Router: If issues persist, reset your Wi-Fi router, then uninstall and reinstall the HomGar app.
- Wi-Fi Frequency: Ensure your device is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi frequency, as 5GHz is not supported.
3. Valve Not Operating
The valve will shut down automatically when the battery voltage is lower than 4.3V. Replace batteries if this occurs.
4. Signal Blockage
Avoid placing the water valve in underground water valve boxes or locations where the Wi-Fi signal may be obstructed.
