4. Setup and Installation

4.1 Vehicle Compatibility

This unit is compatible with Kia Forte models from 2013 to 2018. It is designed for vehicles that do not have an original radio with a factory camera or an OEM amplifier. It does not require a Canbus adapter for these specific models.

4.2 Installation Steps

Before starting, ensure the car's power is cut off. Prepare tools such as a plastic pry tool and a screwdriver.

1. Disassembly of Original Radio:
   • Use a pry tool to open and remove the decorative panel below the original car radio.
   • Unplug any wires connected to the car radio.
   • Remove the outer frame of the original car radio.
   • Unscrew the two screws securing the top of the original car radio.
   • Remove the original car radio.
   • Unscrew the two screws on each side of the emergency button.
   • Use a pry tool to remove the emergency button cap from its base.
2. Installation of New Head Unit:
   • Install the new emergency button cap onto its base.
   • Attach the emergency button to the new radio panel and secure it with two screws on each side.
   • Connect the provided power cables, RCA cables, USB cables, GPS antenna, radio antenna, and rear camera input cable to the corresponding ports on the new head unit and the vehicle's wiring harness. If the wiring harness does not match, contact customer service for assistance.
   • Carefully slide the new radio panel with the head unit into the dashboard opening.
   • Secure the unit and reattach any decorative panels removed during disassembly.

4.3 Initial Power On

After installation, reconnect the vehicle's battery. The unit should power on automatically or when the ignition is turned on. Follow any on-screen prompts for initial setup, such as language selection and time zone.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto

The unit supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless smartphone integration.

• For Wireless Apple CarPlay:
  1. Connect your iPhone to the car radio's Bluetooth (Bluetooth name: "Car BT0", PIN: 1234). Ensure "phone audio, music audio" is connected.
  2. Open the "SpeedPlay" application on the head unit.
  3. Allow contacts and favorites to sync.
  4. Select "Use CarPlay with SpeedPlay".
  5. Wait for the connection to establish. The first connection may take longer.
• For Wireless Android Auto:
  1. Open the "SpeedPlay" application on the head unit.
  2. Connect your Android phone to the rear 4-pin USB port with the original data cable.
  3. Allow USB debugging on your phone.

5.2 GPS Navigation & WiFi Connectivity
