Safety Information
WARNING: Failure to follow these safety instructions may result in fire, electric shock, or other injury or damage.
- The battery is equipped with a 100A Battery Management System (BMS) for protection against overcharge (14.6V), over-discharge (9.2V), short circuit, and overheating.
- Ensure battery performance temperatures are 5°C (41°F) or higher during charging. Charging below this temperature may cause damage and is not covered by warranty.
- Do not use this battery as a starting battery for vehicles, golf cart batteries, or jacks. It is not designed for high-current starting applications.
- Always use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling batteries.
- Avoid short-circuiting the battery terminals.
- Do not disassemble, puncture, or modify the battery.
- Keep the battery away from heat sources, open flames, and flammable materials.
- Ensure proper ventilation during charging and discharging.

Setup
Initial Charge
Your dumfume LiFePO4 battery is shipped with approximately 40% charge. It is recommended to fully charge the battery before its first use to ensure optimal performance and calibration of the BMS.
Connection for Expandable Systems (4S4P)
The battery supports up to a 4S4P (4 series, 4 parallel) configuration for building systems up to 51.2V 400Ah. When connecting multiple batteries:
- Always ensure that the voltage difference between each battery is controlled within 0.1V before making connections.
- Use appropriate cables and connectors rated for the expected current.
- Connect batteries in series first to achieve the desired voltage, then connect strings in parallel for increased capacity.
- Refer to the wiring diagram for proper series and parallel connections.

Operating Instructions
Charging
- Recommended charging current: 20-50A.
- Continuous maximum charging current: 100A.
- Charging limit voltage: 14.6V.
- Optimal charging temperature: 0°C to 65°C (32°F to 149°F). Charging performance requires temperatures of 5°C (41°F) or higher. The BMS will cut off charging below 0°C (32°F).

Discharging
- Recommended discharging current: 0-60A.
- Continuous maximum discharging current: 100A.
- Discharging temperature range: -20°C to 70°C (-4°F to 158°F). The BMS will stop discharging below -20°C (-4°F).
Controller/Inverter Settings (Single Battery)
For optimal performance and protection, configure your solar charge controller and inverter with the following parameters. If using multiple batteries in series, multiply the voltage settings accordingly.
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Charging Voltage | 14.6V |
| Float Voltage | 14.2V |
| Charging Current | 0.2-0.5C |
| Current Limit | ≤ 100A |
| High Voltage Disconnect Voltage | 14.6V + 0.1V |
| High Voltage Recovery Voltage | 14.2V + 0.1V |
| Low Voltage Disconnect Voltage | 9.2V ± 0.12V |
| Low Voltage Recovery Voltage | 10.8V ± 0.12V |
| Balanced Charging | Off |
| Charging Temperature Range | 0°C to 45°C |
| Discharging Temperature Range | -20°C to 45°C |
| Storage Temperature | -10°C to 45°C |

Maintenance
- When the battery is not in use for extended periods, charge and discharge it every six months to prevent damage and maintain cell health.
- Keep the battery terminals clean and free from corrosion.
- Store the battery in a cool, dry place within the recommended storage temperature range (-10°C to 45°C).
- Regularly inspect the battery casing for any signs of damage or swelling.
Troubleshooting
Common Issues and Solutions
- Battery not charging: Check charging temperature (must be above 0°C/32°F, optimal above 5°C/41°F). Verify charger output voltage and current match battery specifications. Ensure all connections are secure.
- Battery not discharging: Check discharge temperature (must be above -20°C/-4°F). Ensure the load is within the continuous discharge current limit (100A). The BMS may have activated protection due to low voltage or over-current.
- Voltage/Current Readings Deviation: Note that voltage and current readings may exhibit a deviation of 1% to 5% depending on the measurement method and instrumentation used. This is normal.
- Overheating Terminals: If terminals show signs of overheating (e.g., melted plastic covers), immediately disconnect the battery. This can indicate loose connections, undersized cabling, or excessive current draw. Ensure proper torque on terminal connections and use appropriately sized cables for your application. Contact support if the issue persists after verifying connections and load.
