  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the case from its packaging. Inspect the exterior and interior for any signs of damage that may have occurred during shipping.
  2. Opening the Case: Place the case on a flat, stable surface. Release all latches by pushing the release mechanism. Gently lift the lid to open the case.

3. Operating the Case

Proper operation of your guitar case ensures the safety and longevity of your instrument.

  1. Closing the Case: After placing your guitar inside, gently lower the lid. Ensure that the lid aligns correctly with the base of the case. Do not force the lid closed.
  2. Securing Latches: Once the lid is aligned, engage all latches. Press each latch firmly until it clicks into place. Verify that all latches are securely fastened before moving the case.
  3. Using the Handle: The case is equipped with a handmade leather comfort-grip handle. Use this handle for carrying the case. Always ensure the latches are secure before lifting.
  4. Storage Compartment: Utilize the internal storage compartment for accessories such as picks, strings, or a tuner. Ensure items are placed securely to prevent them from shifting and potentially damaging the instrument.

4. Maintenance and Care

Regular maintenance will help preserve the appearance and protective qualities of your TKL AVS guitar case.

  • Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior surface with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and dirt. For stubborn marks, a mild, non-abrasive cleaner can be used sparingly. Avoid harsh chemicals that may damage the vintage reproduction covering.
  • Interior Cleaning: Periodically vacuum or gently brush the plush interior lining to remove dust and lint. If necessary, spot clean with a very slightly damp cloth and mild soap, then allow to air dry completely before closing the case with an instrument inside.
  • Hardware Care: The brass-plated hardware can be polished with a soft cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners on the latches and hinges.
  • Storage: Store the case in a climate-controlled environment, away from extreme temperatures and humidity, which can affect both the case and your instrument.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your guitar case, refer to the following common solutions:

  • Latches Not Closing:
    • Ensure the lid is perfectly aligned with the base.
    • Check for any obstructions (e.g., guitar strap, cable) preventing the lid from closing completely.
    • Inspect latches for any bent or damaged components.
  • Guitar Does Not Fit Snugly:
    • Verify that your guitar is a 00 12-Fret acoustic model. This case is specifically designed for this body type.
    • Ensure the guitar is positioned correctly within the interior, with the neck resting in its support.
  • Unusual Odor:
    • New cases may have a slight manufacturing odor. Air out the case in a well-ventilated area for a few days.
    • Ensure no damp items were stored inside, which could cause mildew.
