Safety Information

  • WARNING: To avoid fire, shock, or death, turn off power at the circuit breaker or fuse box and test that power is off before wiring.

  • This dimmer switch is for single-pole applications only. Do not use in 3-way or 4-way circuits.

Setup and Installation

  1. Turn Off Power: Before starting, ensure power is OFF at the circuit breaker or fuse box to prevent electrical shock.
  2. Verify Wiring:

    Confirm that your electrical box contains a neutral wire (typically white). This dimmer requires a neutral wire for proper operation. Identify the Hot (Line), Load, Ground, and Neutral wires.

  3. Wire Connections:
    • Connect the Hot (Line) wire from the wall box to the dimmer's black wire.
    • Connect the Load wire (to the light fixture) from the wall box to the dimmer's red wire.
    • Connect the Ground wire from the wall box to the dimmer's green wire.
    • Connect the Neutral wire from the wall box to the dimmer's white wire.
    • Secure all connections with wire nuts.

  4. Mount the Dimmer: Carefully fold the wires and push the dimmer into the wall box. Secure it with the provided screws.
  5. Install Wall Plate: Attach the decorative wall plate over the dimmer switch.
  6. Restore Power: Turn power back ON at the circuit breaker.

Operating Instructions

Main Controls

  • ON/OFF Button: Press the large paddle switch to turn lights ON or OFF.
  • Dim/Brighten Buttons: Use the small up (▲) and down (▼) buttons to adjust the brightness level. There are 13 dimming levels.
  • LED Indicators: The 7 LED lights indicate the current brightness level.
  • Fade On/Off: Lights will gradually illuminate or dim to protect your eyes and extend bulb lifespan. The lowest LED indicator remains softly lit for easy location in the dark.

Minimum Brightness Adjustment (Trim Dial)

The trim dial allows you to set the minimum brightness level to prevent flickering or premature turn-off at low settings, especially with certain LED bulbs.

  1. Turn on the dimmer and adjust it to the lowest setting using the down (▼) button.
  2. Carefully remove the rocker cover (the large paddle switch) to expose the trim dial.
  3. Use a small screwdriver to rotate the "Trim Dial".
    • Turn clockwise (+) to increase the minimum brightness.
    • Turn counter-clockwise (-) to decrease the minimum brightness.
    Adjust until the preferred lowest light level is achieved without flickering.
  4. Replace the rocker cover.

Compatibility

The ECOELER YDM003 dimmer switch is designed for wide compatibility with various bulb types:

  • Dimmable LED bulbs up to 150W
  • Dimmable CFL bulbs up to 150W
  • Incandescent or Halogen bulbs up to 300W

Important: This dimmer is NOT compatible with smart bulbs. Ensure your bulbs are explicitly labeled as "dimmable" for optimal performance.

Maintenance

  • To clean the dimmer switch and wall plate, wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Ensure power is off at the circuit breaker before cleaning.
  • Periodically check for loose connections or signs of wear. If any issues are found, consult a qualified electrician.

Troubleshooting
