5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Brewing Espresso (Ground Coffee)
- Ensure the machine is plugged in and the water tank is filled. Turn on the machine and wait for it to heat up (indicator light solid).
- Insert the double filter basket into the portafilter.
- Add finely ground espresso coffee to the filter basket. Use the included coffee spoon to measure (approximately 7-10g per shot).
- Use the tamper end of the coffee spoon to gently press the ground coffee evenly. Do not over-tamp.
- Attach the portafilter to the group head by aligning it and twisting firmly to the right until secure.
- Place one or two espresso cups under the portafilter spouts.
- Press the coffee brewing button. The machine will start extracting espresso. Monitor the built-in pressure gauge for optimal extraction (typically in the middle of the green zone).
- Once the desired amount of espresso is brewed (usually 25-30ml per shot), press the coffee brewing button again to stop the flow.
- Carefully remove the portafilter (it will be hot) and discard the used coffee grounds. Clean the portafilter and filter basket immediately.
5.2 Brewing Espresso (E.S.E. Pods)
- Follow step 1 from "Brewing Espresso (Ground Coffee)".
- Insert the coffee pod filter basket into the portafilter.
- Place one E.S.E. (Easy Serving Espresso) pod into the filter basket. Ensure it lies flat.
- Attach the portafilter to the group head and secure it.
- Place one espresso cup under the portafilter spout.
- Press the coffee brewing button to start extraction.
- Press the button again to stop the flow when desired volume is reached.
- Remove the portafilter and discard the used pod. Clean the portafilter and filter basket.

5.3 Frothing Milk
- Ensure the machine is on and heated.
- Fill a stainless steel frothing pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) to just below the spout.
- Turn the steam knob to the steam position. Wait for the steam indicator light to illuminate, indicating the machine has reached frothing temperature.
- Purge the steam wand: Briefly open the steam knob to release any condensed water, then close it.
- Insert the steam wand tip just below the surface of the milk in the pitcher.
- Open the steam knob fully. Lower the pitcher slightly to introduce air for frothing, then raise it to heat the milk. Move the pitcher in a circular motion.
- Once the milk reaches the desired temperature and texture (approximately 60-70°C or 140-160°F), close the steam knob.
- Immediately wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your espresso machine.
6.1 Daily Cleaning
- Portafilter and Filter Baskets: After each use, remove the portafilter, discard grounds/pod, and rinse the portafilter and filter basket under running water. Use a brush to remove any coffee residue.
- Steam Wand: Immediately after frothing milk, wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth. Purge steam briefly to clear any milk from the nozzle. If clogged, use a small pin to clear the hole.
- Drip Tray: Empty and rinse the drip tray daily or when the indicator floats up.
- Water Tank: Empty any remaining water from the tank and rinse it daily. Refill with fresh water before each use.
- Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scourers.
6.2 Descaling
Depending on water hardness and frequency of use, descaling should be performed every 2-3 months. Use a commercial descaling solution specifically designed for espresso machines, following the manufacturer's instructions. Never use vinegar, as it can damage internal components.
- Prepare the descaling solution according to the product instructions and pour it into the water tank.
- Place a large container under the coffee outlet and steam wand.
- Run the descaling solution through the coffee outlet until half the tank is empty.
- Run the remaining solution through the steam wand.
- Rinse the water tank thoroughly and fill it with fresh water.
- Perform at least two full rinse cycles with fresh water through both the coffee outlet and steam wand to remove any descaling solution residue.
