2. Safety Information

  • LCD Screen: Displays torque values, units, and operating modes.
  • Buzzer: Emits an audible alert when the target torque value is approached and reached.
  • LED Indicators: Lights up in sequence as the target torque value is approached, and illuminates steadily when reached.
  • Up/Down Buttons: Used to adjust target torque values.
  • P/T/U Button: Cycles through measurement units (N.m, ft.lb, in.lb, kg.cm) and operating modes (Peak/Track).
  • M Button: Selects between different reading modes (Torque Memory, Peak Mode, Track Mode).
  • C Button: Clear/Reset button.

5. Setup

5.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery cap at the end of the handle. It is a screw-on cap.
  2. Unscrew the cap by turning it counter-clockwise. If it is tight, a firm grip or a tool like pipe pliers may be needed, but ensure not to damage the cap.
  3. Remove the internal battery cartridge.
  4. Insert the required batteries (typically AAA, refer to the battery compartment for polarity) into the cartridge.
  5. Reinsert the cartridge into the handle and screw the cap back on clockwise until secure.

5.2 Attaching Accessories

The torque wrench comes with an extension bar and a 1/4" adapter for increased versatility.

  • To attach the extension bar or adapter, simply push it onto the square drive of the torque wrench until it clicks into place.
  • To remove, press the release button on the square drive and pull the accessory off.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Power On/Off

Press and hold the 'C' button to power on the device. The LCD screen will illuminate. The device will automatically power off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery life.

6.2 Unit Selection

Press the 'P/T/U' button to cycle through the available measurement units: Newton-meters (N.m), Foot-pounds (ft.lb), Inch-pounds (in.lb), and Kilogram-centimeters (kg.cm).

6.3 Setting Target Torque

  1. Select your desired unit using the 'P/T/U' button.
  2. Use the 'Up' and 'Down' arrow buttons to set the target torque value. The value will increase or decrease with each press. Hold the button for faster adjustment.
  3. Once the desired torque is set, the wrench is ready for use.

6.4 Reading Modes

The wrench offers three reading modes, selectable via the 'M' button:

  • Torque Memory (P1-P8): Memorizes torque value histories for future query.
  • Peak Mode: Records the maximum torque value applied during the tightening process. The display will hold the highest torque reading achieved.
  • Track Mode: Displays the torque value in real-time as it is being applied. This is useful for monitoring torque as you tighten.

6.5 Applying Torque

  1. Attach the appropriate socket to the torque wrench (or adapter/extension bar).
  2. Place the socket onto the fastener.
  3. Apply steady, smooth force to the handle. Observe the LCD screen for the real-time torque reading (in Track mode) or the increasing value towards your target.
  4. As you approach the target torque, the LED indicators will light up in sequence, and the buzzer will emit a warning sound.
  5. When the target torque is reached, the buzzer will sound continuously, and the LED indicators will remain steadily lit. Stop applying force immediately.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning and Storage

  • After each use, wipe the torque wrench with a clean, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Store the torque wrench in its original protective case in a dry, temperature-controlled environment.
  • Remove batteries if the tool will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.

7.2 Calibration

Your PUIBERS Digital Torque Wrench is factory calibrated to a precision of ±1%. Regular calibration is crucial for maintaining accuracy, especially after frequent use or if the tool has been subjected to impact. It is recommended to have the torque wrench professionally calibrated periodically, or after approximately 5000 cycles of use.

8. Troubleshooting
