2. Placement and Installation

Optimal placement is crucial for the device's effectiveness. The device has a range of up to 50 feet.

  • Line of Sight: Ensure the device has a clear line of sight to the area where barking occurs. Obstructions like walls, fences, or dense foliage can significantly reduce its effectiveness.
  • Indoor/Outdoor Use: The IP65 weatherproof rating allows for both indoor and outdoor installation. Mount it on a wall, fence, tree, or place it in a dog house.
  • Avoid Obstructions: Ultrasonic sound cannot penetrate load-bearing walls or glass. For best results, ensure the device and the dog are in the same room or interconnected open areas.

  • To turn on the device, press and hold the power button until the LED indicator illuminates.
  • To turn off the device, press and hold the power button again until the LED indicator turns off.

2. Selecting Frequency Modes

The Queenmew H1 offers three adjustable frequency modes to suit different dog sizes and to prevent dogs from becoming accustomed to a single frequency. Use the frequency adjustment slider to select the desired mode.

  • Mode 1 (Low Range): 0KHz-15KHz, suitable for small dogs.
  • Mode 2 (Medium Range): 15KHz-20KHz, suitable for docile dogs.
  • Mode 3 (High Range): 20KHz-30KHz, suitable for large dogs.

Experiment with different modes to find the most effective setting for your dog or the target dog.

3. Automatic Bark Detection and Training

Once powered on and a mode is selected, the device will automatically detect barking within its 50-foot range and emit an ultrasonic sound. This sound is intended to interrupt the barking behavior.

  • Initial Adjustment Period: Dogs may not immediately respond to the ultrasonic sound. An adjustment period of up to 2 weeks is often required for dogs to associate the sound with their barking and modify their behavior.
  • Consistency: For best results, ensure consistent use of the device in the areas where barking is an issue.
  • Positive Reinforcement: Combine the device's use with positive reinforcement training methods for optimal results. Reward quiet behavior.

Maintenance

Cleaning

  • Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Ensure the ultrasonic emitter is free from dirt or debris for optimal performance.

Battery Care

  • Recharge the device when the battery is low to maintain performance.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures, which can affect battery life.
