5.2 Focusing the Laser
The machine features a dual red dot positioning system to assist with focusing.
- Place your material on the workbench.
- Activate the red light preview function in EZCAD. Two red dots will appear on the material surface.
- Adjust the Z-axis (height) of the galvo head using the rotating handle until the two red dots converge into a single, sharp point. This indicates optimal focus.

5.3 Marking Parameters
Adjust parameters in EZCAD based on the material and desired marking effect:
- Power: Controls laser intensity. Higher power for deeper engraving.
- Speed: Determines how fast the laser moves. Slower speeds for deeper marks.
- Frequency: Affects the number of laser pulses per second. Important for material interaction and color marking.
- Pulse Width: Adjustable from 2ns to 500ns, crucial for high-contrast marking and achieving specific colors on stainless steel.
5.4 Starting a Marking Job
- Import or create your design in EZCAD.
- Set the marking parameters.
- Use the red light preview to verify the marking area on your material.
- Press the 'Mark' button in EZCAD to begin the engraving process.
