1. Setup and Installation

1.1 Unpacking and Component Check

Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Verify that all items are present:

1.2 Firebox Requirements

This logs set requires a minimum firebox dimension of 14 inches Depth x 28 inches Width (20 inches Width at rear) x 24 inches Height. Ensure your fireplace meets these specifications for safe installation and operation.

1.3 Battery Installation

Proper battery installation is crucial for the ignition and remote control functions.

  1. Ignition System: One AAA battery is required for the main unit's ignition. Locate the ignition cap, unscrew it, insert the AAA battery with the correct polarity, and tighten the cap clockwise.
  2. Receiver Box: Four AAA batteries are required for the receiver box. Open the battery compartment, insert the batteries with correct polarity, and close the compartment.
  3. Remote Control: Two AAA batteries are required for the remote control. Open the battery cover on the back of the remote, insert the batteries with correct polarity, and replace the cover.

2. Operating Instructions

2.1 Initial Startup and Pilot Light Ignition

  1. Ensure the gas supply to the unit is open.
  2. Set the receiver switch to the REMOTE position.
  3. Press lightly on the control knob on the main unit and turn it counter-clockwise to the PILOT position.
  4. While holding the control knob in the PILOT position, press and hold the IGNITION button until the pilot flame lights. You may need to hold it for a minute or longer to purge air from the gas line.
  5. Once the pilot flame is stable (typically after 30-60 seconds), release the IGNITION button, then slowly release the control knob. The pilot flame should remain lit.
