2. Cleaning

Periodically clean the camera lens and solar panel with a soft, dry cloth to ensure optimal performance. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.

3. Battery Care

If using AA batteries, ensure they are fresh and of good quality. For solar-powered operation, ensure the solar panel receives sufficient sunlight to maintain the internal 18650 battery's charge. If the camera will be stored for an extended period, remove all batteries.

Troubleshooting

Camera Not Turning On / Screen Blank

  • Ensure batteries (AA and/or 18650) are correctly installed and charged.
  • Verify the power switch is in the TEST position to access the display and settings. Switching directly to ON will not activate the screen for user interaction.

Poor Battery Life

  • Use high-quality, fresh AA batteries. Rechargeable NiMH AA cells are recommended.
  • For solar power, ensure the solar panel is clean and receives adequate direct sunlight. The internal 18650 battery needs sufficient charge.
  • Reduce the frequency of recordings or adjust PIR sensitivity if the camera is triggering excessively.

Cannot Transfer Files to Computer

  • The primary method for data transfer is by removing the Micro SD card and using a card reader to connect it to your computer.
  • While the camera has a USB port, it may not be recognized as a mass storage device by all computers for direct file transfer.

Missed Recordings

  • Check PIR sensor sensitivity settings; increase if necessary.
  • Ensure the camera's field of view is clear and not obstructed.
  • Verify that the camera is in ON mode for active monitoring.
