4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

This impact wrench is compatible with Milwaukee 18V batteries (e.g., 48-11-1820, 48-11-1828, 48-11-1841, 48-11-1850, 48-11-1862, 48-11-1880). Ensure the battery is fully charged before installation.

  1. Align the battery pack with the battery port on the base of the impact wrench handle.
  2. Slide the battery pack into the port until it clicks securely into place.
  3. To remove, press the battery release button and slide the battery pack out.

4.2 Socket Attachment

The impact wrench features a 3/4-inch hog ring anvil for quick and secure socket changes.

  1. Select the appropriate 3/4-inch impact-rated socket for your task.
  2. Push the socket firmly onto the 3/4-inch square drive until the hog ring secures it.
  3. To remove, pull the socket off the drive.

5. Operation

5.1 Power On/Off and Direction Control

The tool features a forward/reverse button and a variable speed trigger.

  • To turn the tool ON, press the trigger switch. To turn OFF, release the trigger switch.
  • The forward/reverse button (located above the trigger) controls the rotation direction. Push it left for forward (tightening) and right for reverse (loosening).
  • A middle position on the forward/reverse button acts as a lock, preventing accidental activation of the trigger.

5.2 Speed Control and Torque Settings

The impact wrench offers three adjustable speed settings and a reverse auto-stop mode.

  • Press the speed control button (located on the base of the tool) to cycle through the three speed settings (1, 2, 3). The corresponding indicator lights will illuminate.
  • Speed 1: Lower torque for delicate tasks or initial fastening.
  • Speed 2: Medium torque for general applications.
  • Speed 3: Maximum torque (1850 ft-lbs) for heavy-duty fastening.
  • Reverse Auto-Stop Mode: When in reverse, pressing the speed control button activates the auto-stop feature. This mode stops the tool automatically once the fastener is loose, preventing it from falling off completely.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

  • Keep the tool's ventilation openings clean and free from debris to prevent overheating.
  • Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the exterior of the tool. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

6.2 Storage
