Setup

1. Battery Installation

  1. Ensure the radio is powered off.
  2. Align the battery pack with the compartment on the back of the radio.
  3. Slide the battery into place until it clicks securely.
  4. If applicable, secure the battery cover.

2. Charging the Battery

Before initial use, fully charge the battery. A full charge typically takes several hours.

  1. Connect the wall adapter to the charging base.
  2. Plug the wall adapter into a power outlet.
  3. Place the radio with the installed battery into the charging base. Ensure the charging contacts on the radio align with those on the base.
  4. The charging indicator light on the base will illuminate (e.g., red for charging, green for fully charged).

3. Antenna Attachment

Screw the antenna clockwise onto the connector at the top of the radio until it is finger-tight. Do not overtighten.

4. Belt Clip Attachment

Attach the belt clip to the back of the radio using the provided screws. This allows for convenient carrying.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off and Volume Control

  1. To power on the radio, rotate the smaller knob (typically on the right side of the top panel) clockwise until you hear a click.
  2. Continue rotating this knob to adjust the volume to a comfortable listening level.
  3. To power off, rotate the knob counter-clockwise until it clicks off.

2. Channel Selection

The G13 PRO supports 85 channels across PMR446 and LPD bands.

  1. Rotate the larger knob (typically on the left side of the top panel) to select your desired channel.
  2. The selected channel number will be displayed on the screen.

3. Transmitting and Receiving

  1. To transmit, press and hold the Push-To-Talk (PTT) button located on the side of the radio.
  2. Speak clearly into the microphone.
  3. Release the PTT button to stop transmitting and return to receive mode.
  4. When receiving a transmission, the radio will automatically output the audio.

4. Menu Navigation

The G13 PRO features a menu system for advanced settings. Use the MENU, ENTER, and BACK buttons located below the display.

  • Press MENU to enter the main menu.
  • Use the channel knob or arrow buttons (if available) to scroll through menu options.
  • Press ENTER to select an option or confirm a setting.
  • Press BACK to exit a menu or return to the previous screen.

5. Special Features

  • RRM Channel Function: For hiking and trekking, this function automatically selects the main frequency of the Mountain Radio Network, which is crucial for signaling emergencies. Consult local regulations for RRM channel usage.
