4. Setup Instructions
The PawHut Pet Gate is designed for easy pressure-mounted installation. No drilling is typically required.
4.1. Measure Your Opening
Before installation, measure the width of your desired opening (doorway, hallway, or bottom of stairs). This gate is suitable for openings between 74-105 cm. Select the appropriate extension panels if your opening is wider than the main gate panel.

4.2. Assemble Extensions (if needed)
If your opening requires extensions, attach them to the main gate panel according to the provided diagrams. Ensure they are securely connected.

4.3. Install the Gate
- Place the gate in the desired opening.
- Insert the four adjustable pressure bolts into the corners of the gate.
- Position the wall cups/protectors against the wall where the pressure bolts will make contact.
- Gradually tighten the pressure bolts by rotating them. Tighten opposing bolts (e.g., top-left and bottom-right) simultaneously to ensure even pressure.
- Continue tightening until the gate is firmly secured and does not move when pushed. The gap in the door slot should be reduced to 2-3 mm, indicating sufficient tension.
- Test the gate's stability and ensure the door opens and closes smoothly.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Opening the Gate
The gate features a double-lock system for enhanced security. To open:
- Slide the two buttons on the handle simultaneously.
- Lift the handle to disengage the lock.
- Push or pull the gate door open.
The gate can be configured to open in both directions or only one, using the rotating locks at the bottom.

5.2. Automatic Closure
The gate door is designed to close automatically when the opening angle is less than 90 degrees. If the door is pushed open beyond 90 degrees, it will remain open, allowing for free passage.

5.3. Small Pet Door
A small door is integrated into the main gate panel, allowing smaller pets, such as cats, to pass through without opening the main gate. This small door can be secured if not needed.

6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the gate with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that could damage the finish.
- Inspection: Periodically check all connections, especially the pressure bolts, to ensure they remain tight and secure. Inspect the gate for any signs of damage or wear.
- Lubrication: If the hinges become stiff, apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant.
7. Troubleshooting
- Gate not closing properly: Ensure the gate is installed squarely within the opening. Re-tighten the pressure bolts evenly until the gap in the door slot is 2-3 mm.
- Gate feels unstable: Re-tighten all four pressure bolts. Ensure wall cups are properly seated against a flat, sturdy surface.
- Difficulty opening the gate: Check for any obstructions. Ensure the double-lock mechanism is fully disengaged by sliding and lifting the buttons completely.
- Small pet door not functioning: Check for any debris in the hinge mechanism. Ensure it is not locked if you intend for it to swing freely.
