4. Setup & Installation
The Rimoody Android Car Radio is designed for a seamless fit into Seat Leon 2 MK2 models (2005-2012). It replaces the factory radio unit.
4.1 Pre-Installation Check
- Ensure the vehicle's ignition is off and the battery is disconnected before starting installation.
- Confirm compatibility with your vehicle's model and year.
- Gather all necessary tools (provided installation tools, screwdrivers, wire strippers, etc.).
4.2 Installation Steps
- Remove Factory Radio: Carefully remove the existing factory radio unit from your dashboard. Refer to your vehicle's service manual for specific instructions on dashboard disassembly.
- Connect Wiring Harness: Connect the provided power cable and Canbus decoder to the vehicle's wiring harness. Ensure all connections are secure.
- Connect Antennas: Connect the GPS antenna and radio antenna adapter to the corresponding ports on the new head unit. Position the GPS antenna in a location with a clear view of the sky (e.g., on the dashboard).
- Connect USB Cables: Route the USB cables to a convenient location, such as the glove compartment, for future connectivity.
- Connect Rear Camera (Optional): If installing a rear camera, connect its video input cable to the designated port on the head unit and route the camera's power and video cables to the rear of the vehicle.

5.1 Basic Operation
- Power On/Off: The unit typically powers on with the vehicle's ignition. A long press on the power button (if available) can manually turn it off or on.
- Volume Control: Adjust volume using the on-screen controls, physical buttons (if present), or steering wheel controls.
- Touch Screen: Navigate the interface by tapping, swiping, and pinching on the 9-inch capacitive touch screen.
5.2 Wireless Carplay & Android Auto
Connect your iPhone or Android smartphone wirelessly for seamless integration of navigation, music, calls, and messages.

- On the car radio, open the Carplay or Android Auto application.

5.3 Mirror Link
Mirror Link allows you to display your smartphone's screen directly onto the car radio's display.
- Connect your phone to the car radio via Wi-Fi or USB (depending on phone model and app).
- Open the Mirror Link application on the car radio.
- Follow the instructions on both your phone and the car radio to establish the connection.
5.4 FM/RDS Radio & Bluetooth
Enjoy your favorite radio stations and stream music wirelessly via Bluetooth.
- FM/RDS Radio: Access the radio application. You can manually tune, auto-scan, or select preset stations. RDS (Radio Data System) provides station information and traffic announcements where available.
