3. Product Overview and Interface
The RH-02 Pro features several indicators and switches for operation and configuration:
- PWR Indicator: A yellow LED that illuminates when the device is connected to a USB port, indicating power.
- STATE & WORK Indicators: These LEDs provide feedback based on the specific firmware function and operational status.
- Boot Switch: This switch controls the device's mode. Flipping it up sets the device to working mode. Flipping it down activates DFU (Device Firmware Upgrade) mode, allowing for firmware updates.
- 120Ω Resistor Switch: This switch enables or disables the 120Ω termination resistor. Flipping it up turns the resistor off, and flipping it down turns it on.
- CAN H, GND, CAN L, 5V Terminals: These are the connection points for the CAN bus (CAN H, CAN L, GND) and an optional 5V power output.
- USB Type-C Port: Used for connecting the adapter to a computer for power and data communication.

6. Setup and Initial Connection
Follow these steps to set up your Jhoinrch RH-02 Pro adapter:
- Connect to Computer: Use the provided USB Type-C cable to connect the RH-02 Pro to an available USB port on your computer. The PWR indicator should illuminate yellow.
- Driver Installation: The device comes pre-installed with default Slcan firmware from the Canable project. Depending on your operating system, drivers may be automatically installed. If not, refer to the Canable project's GitHub page for driver installation instructions.
- CAN Bus Connection: Connect your CAN bus network to the CAN H, CAN L, and GND terminals on the adapter. Ensure correct polarity.
- 120Ω Termination: If your CAN bus network requires termination, ensure the 120Ω Resistor Switch is in the 'on' (down) position. If the network already has termination, set the switch to 'off' (up).
- Software Configuration: Open your preferred CAN bus analysis software (e.g., Cangaroo, SavvyCAN, BUSMASTER, PCAN, SLCAN). Configure the software to recognize the RH-02 Pro as an Slcan device.

7. Operating Modes
The RH-02 Pro supports four distinct CAN bus working modes:
- Normal Mode: In this mode, the node can send and receive data normally, actively participating in bus communication. It handles sending data, answering, error detection, and recovery. This is suitable for common communication scenarios.
- Silent Mode: The node only receives data and does not actively transmit to avoid interfering with the bus due to its own faults. This mode is ideal for debugging or isolating fault nodes without affecting bus operation.
- Loopback Mode: This mode enables internal loopback data transmission, where the sent signal is directly fed back to its own receiver. It does not interact with the actual bus. This is useful for hardware self-testing or firmware debugging.
- Listen-Only Mode: The node passively listens to the bus and does not send data or error frames. This prevents any interference with the network. It is typically used for network monitoring or learning bus parameters (e.g., baud rate detection).

8. Firmware Update (DFU Mode)
The RH-02 Pro allows for firmware updates to expand functionality or address specific needs.
- Work Mode (Default): When the Boot Switch is in the OFF (up) position, the device operates with its factory-built-in Candlelight firmware, offering plug-and-play functionality.
- DFU Mode (Firmware Update): To update the firmware, set the Boot Switch to the ON (down) position. This puts the device into DFU mode. You can then use DfuSeDemo software to flash new firmware. More feature-rich firmware and detailed instructions can be found on the Canable project's GitHub page or canable.io.

9. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Jhoinrch RH-02 Pro adapter, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Keep Clean: Regularly clean the device with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using liquid cleaners or solvents.
- Protect Connections: Ensure USB and terminal connections are free from dust and debris.
- Storage: Store the adapter in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use.
- Handle with Care: Avoid dropping or subjecting the device to strong impacts.
10. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your RH-02 Pro, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
- Device Not Recognized:
- Ensure the USB Type-C cable is securely connected to both the adapter and your computer.
- Check if the PWR indicator is illuminated. If not, try a different USB port or cable.
- Verify that the necessary drivers are installed. Refer to the Canable project's documentation for driver installation.
- No CAN Data Transmission/Reception:
- Confirm that the CAN H, CAN L, and GND connections to your CAN bus are correct and secure.
- Check the 120Ω Resistor Switch position. Ensure it is set appropriately for your CAN network's termination requirements.
- Verify the operating mode (Normal, Silent, Loopback, Listen-Only) is correctly configured in your software and matches your intended use.
- Ensure the baud rate configured in your software matches the baud rate of the CAN bus.
- Firmware Update Failure:
- Make sure the Boot Switch is in the ON (down) position to enter DFU mode before attempting a firmware update.
- Ensure you are using the correct DfuSeDemo software and the appropriate firmware file.
- Consult the Canable project's GitHub page for detailed firmware update procedures.
