1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your CAMECHO 4G+64G Android Car Stereo. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and use to ensure proper function and to maximize your experience.

1.1 Applicable Car Models

This Android car stereo is designed for specific vehicle models and years. It is compatible with:

  • 2007-2011 GMC Sierra Radio
  • 2007-2013 Chevy Silverado 1500HD 2500HD 3500HD Radio

Ensure your vehicle's dashboard configuration matches the compatible types shown in the image below. This unit does not support OEM backup cameras.

2. Setup and Installation

2.1 Packing List

Before beginning installation, please verify that all components are present in the package:

  • 1 x Android Head Unit
  • 1 x HD Backup Camera
  • 1 x External Microphone

  • 1 x Protocol Box (CANBUS)
  • 1 x GPS Antenna
  • 1 x Adapter Antenna

2.2 General Installation Notes

Installation typically involves removing the factory radio, connecting the new head unit's wiring harness to the vehicle's harness, and securing the unit in the dashboard. Professional installation is recommended if you are unfamiliar with car audio wiring.

2.3 Wiring and CANBUS Connection

Ensure all wiring connections are secure. The CANBUS protocol box is crucial for integrating the stereo with your vehicle's systems, including steering wheel controls. Connect the 8-pin plug into the head unit's connector. Confirm the CANBUS box is properly connected.

2.4 Reversing Camera Installation

The included HD backup camera enhances driving safety. Follow these steps for installation:

  1. Connect the positive pole of the camera's power supply to the car's reversing light positive wire.
  2. Connect the negative pole of the camera's power supply to the car's reversing light negative wire.
  3. The reversing trigger is controlled by the stereo; no separate connection is required for the trigger wire.
  4. Connect the white plug of the camera input cable to the main device.

Note: The reversing input must be plugged in even if the reversing camera is not used.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto

The unit supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless smartphone integration.

For Wireless Apple CarPlay:

  1. Open the "ApplePlay" app on the head unit.
  2. Turn on Bluetooth on your iPhone and select the car radio's Bluetooth name to pair.
  3. Allow access to Contacts and Favorite Sync when prompted.
  4. Wait for a moment, and the CarPlay mode will activate.

For Wireless Android Auto:

  1. Open the "Android Auto" app on the head unit.
  2. Turn on Bluetooth on your Android phone and select the car radio's Bluetooth name to pair.
  3. Wait for a moment, and the Android Auto mode will activate.

3.2 GPS Navigation & WiFi Connection

The head unit supports both online and offline navigation. It comes with the "Here WeGo" offline map app pre-installed.

  • GPS Navigation: Use the built-in GPS module for accurate positioning and navigation. You can download additional navigation apps from the app store.
  • WiFi Connection: Connect to a WiFi hotspot (e.g., from your smartphone) to access online features, stream music, download apps, and browse the internet.

3.3 Bluetooth 5.0 & FM RDS Radio

  • Bluetooth 5.0: Connect your smartphone via Bluetooth for hands-free calling and A2DP music streaming. Access your phone's contacts and call history directly from the head unit.
  • FM RDS Radio: Tune into FM radio stations with 18-station presets. RDS (Radio Data System) provides additional information like station name and song title where available.

3.4 32-Band Equalizer

Customize your audio experience with the built-in 32-band equalizer. Adjust frequencies to match your musical preferences and vehicle acoustics. Various preset sound modes are available.

3.5 Optional Home Page APP Display

Personalize your home screen by selecting and rearranging the application icons you wish to display. This allows for quick access to your most frequently used apps.

3.6 Mirror Link

The unit supports phone mirror link functionality (wirelessly only), allowing you to cast your smartphone's screen to the car radio touchscreen for viewing content.

4. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your CAMECHO Android Car Stereo, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the screen and unit. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the surface.
  • Software Updates: Periodically check for software updates through the system settings to ensure you have the latest features and bug fixes. A stable internet connection is required for updates.
  • Temperature: Avoid exposing the unit to extreme temperatures for extended periods.
  • Power: Ensure your vehicle's electrical system is in good condition to prevent power fluctuations that could affect the unit.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1 No Sound

If you experience no sound from the stereo, consider the following:

  1. Small Horn Connection: Ensure the included small horn is connected to the power harness.
  2. RCA Cable Connection: Connect the AUX IN R/L and AUDIO OUT R/L from the RCA cable to the AUX IN R/L from the power harness.
  3. Car Amplifier App: Open the "Car Amplifier" app from the top bar of the head unit's interface.
  4. External Amplifier: If your car has an external amplifier, connect the amplifier's power cable to the ACC wire of the power harness. Find the blue wire marked AMP CONT and connect it with the ACC wire.

5.2 Steering Wheel Control Issues

If steering wheel controls are not functioning after installation:

  1. 8-Pin Plug: Ensure the 8-pin plug is securely connected to the head unit's connector.
  2. CANBUS Protocol: After connecting the CANBUS, you need to set the protocol correctly. Go to Settings -> Factory Mode (Password: 8317) -> 1 Vehicle - Automotive type, then choose Luzheng + the year and model of your vehicle.

5.3 Backup Camera Not Displaying

If the backup camera image is not appearing:

  1. Input Plug: Ensure the reversing input plug is connected to the main device. Without this, Bluetooth and WiFi signals may also be affected.
  2. Resolution Settings: If the issue persists, adjust the backup camera resolution through Settings -> Factory Mode (Password: 8888) -> 3 Camera.

5.4 General Performance Issues

If the unit feels slow or unresponsive:

  • Restart: Try restarting the unit.
  • Close Background Apps: Close any unnecessary applications running in the background.
  • Factory Reset: As a last resort, perform a factory reset (note: this will erase all user data and settings).
