4. Setup Instructions

4.1 Battery Installation

The digital torque adapter requires batteries for operation. Ensure fresh Alkaline batteries are installed correctly.

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the device.
2. Open the battery cover.
3. Insert the required Alkaline batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
4. Close the battery cover securely.

4.2 Attaching to a Ratchet

The adapter is designed to be used with a standard ratchet wrench.

1. Select a ratchet wrench with a 1/2-inch drive. If your ratchet has a different drive size, use the included 1/4-inch or 3/8-inch adapters.
2. Insert the square drive of the digital torque adapter into the drive head of your ratchet wrench. Ensure it is securely seated.
3. Attach the appropriate socket or extension bar to the output square drive of the digital torque adapter.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Button Functions

Familiarize yourself with the buttons on the digital torque adapter:

• 'M' (Mode Switch): Cycles through Peak, Track, and Preset modes.
• 'PT' (Preset/Memory): Used to set preset torque values and access stored data.
• Up/Down Arrows: Adjusts torque values in Preset mode or navigates through stored data.
• 'U' (Unit Switch): Changes the measurement unit (N·m, lb·ft, lb·in, kg·cm, kg·m). Long press to switch LCD screen color.
• 'C' (Power On/Off/Clear/Confirm): Powers the device on/off, clears current readings, or confirms settings.

5.2 Power On/Off

Press the 'C' button to power on the device. The device will automatically shut down after 3 minutes of inactivity to save power.

5.3 Selecting Measurement Units

Press the 'U' button repeatedly to cycle through the available measurement units: N·m, lb·ft, lb·in, kg·cm, kg·m.

5.4 Operating Modes (Peak / Track)

Press the 'M' button to switch between Peak and Track modes.

• Peak Mode: Displays the maximum torque value applied during the tightening process. The reading will hold at the highest value achieved.
• Track Mode: Provides a real-time display of the applied torque as you tighten. The reading changes dynamically with the force applied.

5.5 Setting Preset Torque Values

The adapter allows you to set up to 30 preset torque values.

1. Press the 'PT' button to enter Preset mode.
2. Use the Up/Down arrow buttons to select a preset group (e.g., SET 01, SET 02).
3. Press 'PT' again to adjust the torque value for the selected preset. Use the Up/Down arrows to set the desired torque.
4. Press 'C' to confirm and save the preset value.

5.6 Smart Alerts and LCD Color

The device provides visual and audible alerts to guide you during torque application.

• 80% of Target Torque: Screen turns green with an intermittent beep.
• 90% of Target Torque: Screen turns blue with a quicker beep.
• 100% of Target Torque: Screen turns red with a constant beep.

To manually switch the LCD screen color, long press the 'U' button.

5.7 Data Storage and Management

The adapter can store up to 500 data sets.

1. To view stored data, press the 'PT' button and then use the Up/Down arrows to scroll through the memory locations (MEM -001, MEM -002, etc.).
2. To delete stored data, refer to the detailed instructions in the included user manual for specific steps.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

Wipe the device with a clean, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the display or housing.

6.2 Storage

When not in use, store the digital torque adapter in its protective carrying case in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.

6.3 Calibration

The YIYEIE Digital Torque Adapter is factory calibrated to ASME & DIN-ISO traceable standards. For continued accuracy, periodic re-calibration by a qualified service center is recommended, especially after heavy use or if accuracy is suspected to be compromised.
